Metallica "One" is the saddest song of all time. Its about a guy in WW1 who gets his arms and legs blown off, and he loses his sight and hearing. The doctors think he went mad because he would just bang his head on his pillow all day. After some time an army friend of his visits him and realizes his banging on the pillow was Morse Code for SOS "Help". Later he only says "kill me", over and over again. He was trapped inside his own mind, with no concept of time and he had no companionship, always in pain.
The song itself is a true masterpiece. I dont use that word lightly. Listen to the end and you will be rewarded.
Anyone post this yet ?
I'm on my phone and it's a pain in the ass to scroll back searching for stuff.
How could I forget this song by my legend Johnny Cash?
I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I'm still right here
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way
Yes, long ago when i was a kid.have you ever seen the original movie?
One of the saddest songs ever, sung by a great artist who reportedly dealt with depression most of his life making the song much more sad.You know that’s a Nine Inch Nails song that Johnny remade right? Great tune
