Schumer warns that the Senate will vote on changes to the chamber’s rules by Jan. 17 unless Republicans get out of the way on elections reform

That is why we need to end it on all legislation
Majority vote
That's a bad idea. Laws would ping-pong depending who won the last election.
1. build the wall, then tear down the wall
2. State run elections, then Federal run elections
3. Open borders, then closed borders
4. Socialism, then capitalism
5. CRT, then no CRT, 1619 Project, then no 1619 Project
6. The FBI tracks down parents, then thr FBI doesn't track down parents
7. DC is a state, then DC isn't a state

The filibuster eliminates strictly "partisan" legislation from passing.

Yeah, but that doesn't have anything to do with what they do once they get elected, right? IOW, I'm not seeing ranked-choice voting as an answer to whether or not the Senate should be able to abolish the filibuster.
Agreed. That was actually a cross-post meant for a differen topic.

The Dems are willing to do this with their "voting" bill, because the bill as written, will allow them to have total federal control over elections, and they will be able to maintain power.

Chucky was right back in 2006, this will be a doomsday for democracy.....but they don't care, leftist never care about democracy
States could oppose the democrat's takeover of elections because the Constitution says that State legislatures run elections, not Congress.

The feds are trying to take control of everything and throwing the states rights under the bus.
This is not what the Constitution was set up for. It was supposed to be a weak central government
and a strong state government. Greed and corruption was injected into the mix and now it's
screwing up everything.

agreed, but that's what the Demafasicst are trying to get around with this bill...or as Chucky called it, their doomsday to democracy

It's been clear for years now that Dems do not respect the will of the people or elections when they lose. They are constantly scheming to undermine both.

I do not care which party holds the majority in the Senate, the filibuster needs to go away, or at least be changed to an active event as it was intended.

Both sides use the filibuster as their crutch for never getting things done. Every election it is "well ,we tried but they would not let us".

I say the heck with that, get rid of it and let the chips fall where they may
The Senate becomes another House of Representatives if you get rid of the filibuster.

I guess a Doomsday for Democracy is good when Chucky doesn't get what he wants.

Good luck if he believe changing the rules for a few months power is going to be worth it.
To paraphrase his Cheetoness

"If more people vote Republicans will never win another election"

So, you were saying?

it's about time my friends

Day by day under the Biden administration the odds are increasing that the Republicans will gain control of the Senate by a couple of votes after the midterms.

If the Democrats get rid of the filibuster they may regret their stupidity a year from now.

If the views of parties are extreme we do not need it. Right wing is normal. And it is labeled as extreme by the real power.

Doesn‘t matter what your affiliation is

If the majority in the House and Senate pass it and the President signs it, it should be law

Biden will still be President a year from now.

I will worry about it whenever Republicans take the House, Senate and White House.

But while Dems hold all three, they should pass whatever legislation they can

This is a Senate rule, Dumbass.

The House and Veggie Joe have nothing to do with it.

What a moron you are. Stick to pathetic trolling, whenever you try to sound informed you fail.
