Should US oil cpompanies who sell their oil outside of the US lose their subsidies?

Across Canada to where? The oil was going to our refineries that are able to process these tar sand oils. From there we were going to use some and ship some out. The oil is going over the US no matter what. But it's much safer to pump the oil than it is to have it run across our country in tanker cars on trains.
ALL of the Canadian tarsands are refined in the free trade zone and shipped overseas. It's an export pipeline. Canada should build their own refinery and pipe that sludge to their coast.

I don't think you know what you're talking about.

Nothing has changed since 2011 when they first announced the keystone XL. I don't really care about the pipeline or the aquifers it may ruin, but their lies are infuriating. Americans are easy targets.

It means less oil for us and other places. Oil is an international market, not a domestic one. The more oil we can collectively get to the market, the less we're slaves to OPEC and hostile nations for oil.

It means profits for the Chinese. We don't buy much from OPEC.. and they are always a dollar cheaper than US oil. Why do you claim the OPEC countries are hostile?

Again, the people who supported Keystone XL and the people who opposed it, put a premium on it. Beyond Keystone, you also have an Administration whose first order of business was to cease Federal land leases for drilling. Collectively, this Administration pushes restrictive policies against US fossil fuel production and infrastructure.

And again the XL doesn't add one iota of capacity to anything to do with fuel costs. Those are controlled by a handful of companies, as are the prices they charge. Federal land leases should be restricted, it's why it's called a 'reserve', and again, every single one of the big companies, including the big frackers, have openly said for the last year they're not re-investing their windfall profits in new drilling, their stockholders want the cash to go to dividends. The drop in production hasn't amounted to squat, and as I've pointed out several times the number of new drilling rigs operating is almost double what they were two years ago, despite the fact that banks are also colluding to keep loans from indie drillers.

You have a good point. Why if trump was going to pull out of Afghanistan did he not protect American equipment in the process,
It is the military's job to do take care of those details and I have confidence that the commanders on the ground carried out those responsibilities on our equipment under both Presidents. They did not destroy or disable the equipement we'd given to the Afghans.

You apparently don't know you are lying. Come on, rookie! Get with the program! Post a link to these subsidies you think exist.

People on the left consider tax breaks as subsidies even though that's not what subsidies actually are. Subsidies is government paying for something, not tax breaks. Electric cars get subsides. Solar panels get subsides. Public transportation gets subsidies, but not oil producers.

Trump was taking steps for a successful and safe withdrawal.
He was unhinged and consumed with spite after his loss was announced and then ordered the complete withdrawal by Jan 15th, one week before he had to leave office.
What truce? Truces are not written in stone, truces are an agreement to certain terms.
What Truce? The one that keep Americans and out EU allies safe from attack by the Taliban. The only condition the Taliban met
That started after Dementia was declared the new US President.
October 2020 was a very deadly month in Afghanistan if you were not an American or EU soldier.

"At least 369 pro-government forces and 212 civilians were killed in Afghanistan in October, marking the highest civilian death toll in a single month since September 2019.

Oct. 23-29, 2020

At least 63 pro-government forces and 78 civilians were killed during the past week. The deadliest attack took place in Kabul, the capital, where a deadly explosion struck a tutoring center in Kabul’s Dasht-e-Barchi area, a Shiite neighborhood, killing 40 civilians and wounding 70 others. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack. "

Bullshit. Again, a new President doesn't have to honor shit unless it's passed by Congress and signed into policy.

There was nothing left in the US hand for Biden to honor. Trump gave it all away. Benedict Donnie met all the conditions and then some, while the Taliban met only one. Benedict was proud of how he hamstrung the US Military too, he bragged about what he had done.

None of that oil can be sold in the US because that would reverse the profits they gained by using the free trade zone. We buy very little from OPEC even though it's cheaper.

Peace with Honor. lol

out of curiosity, is there any factual support to show that not allowing oil from wells in the US to be sold to be refined outside the US EVER reduced the cost of gas or diesel?

We always hear from the right that US oil can lower gas prices, but the truth is that the vast majority of US oil is sold to other countries, because the oil companies can make more money exporting it than selling it domestically.

I think we should stop subsidizing any oil company that does not sell at least 51% of the oil they drill in the US. The American taxpayers shouldn't be forced to subsidize companies that only care about profit and don't care about helping their country.
So pass a law that says that any oil extracted from US soil must be refined and sold in the US. What do you think that will do for US oil pricing?

Here's a clue. At best, nothing because oil is a global commodity. At worse, prices will go up because it is more expensive to produce oil in the US than other countries.

US oil is more expensive than OPEC because the US has the highest lift costs in the world.

The Market disagrees with you.
