So the lefties are trying to derail Christie's run before it even starts.

So the lefties are trying to derail Christie's run before it even starts. This could be a huge mistake on their part.

1. The public's attention span is very short.
2. Chris Christie isn't really a conservative and running him off can lead to a real conservative taking his place.
3. Hillery is VERY beatable and he isn't the only one who could do it.
4. Christie is what we call a Progressive Republican, he's not much different from Hillary and if he won he would continue a lot of your agenda.
5. If no link is established between Christie and this "scandal" he will actually gain the experience to handle the mud slinging and trash talking that the left will dish out further down the road.

I don't like Christie, he's a progressive but I saw him speak yesterday for the first time and he has the gift.

Christie is a smart politician. The same as the guy presently in the White House.
The difference is Christie is a no nonsense will tell you things you may not want to hear type. But he will make even the dissenters believe in his policies.
Look, how many governors can take on powerful public employee unions in a union heavy state, and WIN?
Christie id not a true conservative. He is a right wing populist.
And that is what wins in blue states.
Fiscal conservative and social moderate. That is the ticket.
I'd say Christie, should he decide to run for the GOP nomination, will be our next president.
That is if NJ reelecting him in a landslide is any kind of litmus test. If a Republican can get elected in a statewide election in a very blue state, the White House is a strong possibility.

You've got that flipped around. Christie isn't a "populist" at all - the tea party types are the populists.

Classic Liberal, Libetarian, Conservative, maybe. I think we may be more Madison type Federalists, as opposed to Hamilton Oligarchy-Like , or Fascist, or Socialist. As Levin might say, we believe in constructive liberty. Statues, just like everything else, should need to earn their place.

How long has the press been far left and how did that happen?

So you are claiming that 80% of the press is non-partisan?

Only an idiot would think that I made a claim in that post.

Starting posts with the word "so" is common practice among nutter retards, by the way.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO In other words you are not going to answer the question.

Which proves that you think that 80% of the press is non-partisan. Which truly means it is far left, because only a far left Obama drone would see it that way.

The right did not have to derail Hilary's run for the white house the far left did that for them. The far left decided that a "white" African-American with zero experience was more important to get elected than a "white" female with tons of political baggage.

Although it helps that the far left controls about 80% of the media in this country.

I have a feeling leftist are going to make a run at trumping the GOP with getting the first woman elected President in 2016. Quite frankly, with what the GOP seems to want to offer, more leftists, I think they can succeed.

Immie

Of course that was the plan, the problem is the age of Hilary. Hilary got the SoS position so the DNC could say they got the first African -American elected. Hilary took a back seat to that.

Had they tried to run Hilary 10 years ago she would have had a better chance than she does now.

It does not matter who the GOP puts up for president as the far left press will do it's best to smear them and promote the far left candidate.

And that is exactly why they have a great chance of succeeding.

My question to this is why should I support the liberal the GOP offers me over the liberal the DNC offers me?

For the record, I won't.

Let us all keep in mind Gov. Christie was NOT under oath during the press conference. One in Bridgegate was, and his response was, "On the advice of council, I respectfully decline to answer"; another involved resigned (or was fired) and has made no comments. Let's wait and see if she lands on her feet in a cushy new job, or is blackballed because she did in fact put her boss under the bus.

Completely irrelevant, quit trying to derail the thread.

Time to empty the BedPan. It's really full of it.

Dummy. I asked a question. Two of them, to be exact. Are you going to answer them?

It's worse if they prove he wasn't involved. It means his inner sanctum - people he trusted and vouched for -thought they could get away with using the power of his office to punish innocent citizens for purely political reasons. It means Christie cannot be trusted to make key appointments or effectively manage people. It means he doesn't have the needed judgement to fill the most powerful government positions in the world. And it means he lacks the leadership/intelligence/charisma to secure loyalty from his troops. I see this as a far greater indictment. If he actually did order the closing - which seems obvious - than we can chalk it up to a dirty trick that went bad, one that probably won't happen again because he got caught and learned a lesson. But he chose to cover it up and throw his troops under the bus, which troops will get Ollie North props for taking one for the team. Meaning: we've seen this movie before.

But, in the end, I agree with you. Christie is far closer to the center than a dangerous demagogue like Ted Cruz.

To be honest, I sort of liked how Christie strategically threw Romney under the bus by going all BFF with Barry on the eve of the election. I'd much rather have Christie than a truly dangerous moron like Bachman, Palin or Paul Ryan anywhere near the Presidency. So you're right, maybe we just traded down.

Former New Jersey Gov. Tom Kean Sr. (R) is a 'leftie"?

Tom Kean says Christie's leadership should give pause to voters nationally

Former New Jersey governor Thomas H. Kean, one of the state’s most revered figures and a mentor to current Republican Gov. Chris Christie, contends that the leadership qualities Christie has shown while in office should give pause to voters nationally, as they begin to size up Christie as a potential president.

“On the one hand, I think he’s got a lot to offer. I think he’s the most able politician since Bill Clinton,” Kean (R) said in an interview with The Washington Post. “On the other hand, you look at these other qualities and ask, do you really want that in your president?”

Just a quick question.

How long have we on the right been trying to derail Hilary Clinton's bid for the White House?

Edit: whoops I see that has already been brought up. :)

Well, there's also the fake scandal of Benghazi that the Right invented because they thought they could pin it on Hillary.

the gift of bullshit, lying and leading sheeple.

Let's just put a few facts on the table about the current Christie scandal.

1. He is well known to use retributive tactics.

2. The emails establish beyond a shadow of a doubt that causing a massive 4 day traffic jam on the busiest bridge in the world was premeditated although there is no evidence that Christie was involved at present.

3. Christie has lied to the people of NJ and is hiding behind "executive deniability".

4. Since this is a potential abuse of power the NJ Legislature is conducting an investigation.

5. The GW Bridge is a bi-state agency and it is conducting it's own investigation into wrongdoing.

6. This was a deliberate and malicious interference of interstate commerce so the Federal government is conducting an investigation.

Given the above all of Christie's former employees are probably going to find themselves in a situation where they will be given a choice by the relevant authorities, come clean and tell us exactly what happened in return for a lower sentencing recommendation, or face the maximum penalty the law allows.

It will only take one of them and Christie himself will have to strike a deal.

As usual this is less about the crime than the cover up. Christie did a masterful job in front of the press but he was lying. This will not end well for Christie in my opinion. Even if he manages to evade any charges his ability to make it through the GOP primaries is now compromised by this scandal. As Londoner pointed out he is either complicit or incompetent. That is a lose-lose situation.

At this point, what difference does it make? We now know the cause of the traffic jam was due to malfunction control on the shadowy side of the bridge.

it is not even a scandal.

it is a desperate clinging to ANYTHING by the left and their servants - the lame stream media to redirect the attention from a real scandal, failure and damage to American people which obamacare is.
