Sorry, children, but immigration on this planet has been going on long before you and yours got here and will continue long after you are gone.
This country is, on record, is one of the newest on the planet, only a little over 400 years old.
Everyone here is descended from someone who came from somewhere else.
If you're not a direct, clean and pure descendant of the Wampanoags, who saved the first colonists from starvation, then STFU.
We have way too many Mexicans. It's downright racist I tell you. Send them back before they make babies, then it will be impossible and we will have to foot the bill for generations to come.
..
The new proposal would extend it to those receiving ANY public assistence what so ever, such as subsidies to purchase health insurance, or utilizing the school lunch program, or CHIP.
It'll be a good thing for our economy in my opinion.
American prosperity > Comfort of foreigners
Well, I disagree Confounding.
You disagree that it will benefit our economy or that American prosperity should take priority? Or both?

But my bleeding heart! People are suffering! Let's sacrifice our own comfort in a misguided attempt to save them!

I disagree that it will benefit our economy. Short term assistance can be outweighed by long term benefits when an immigrant proves to be a productive worker, pays taxes, starts new business' and quite often this is carried over to the next generation. Immigrants come here for a chance to succeed and often do.
What's more - immigrants are already barred, for five years from using most forms of public assistance - but - they pay into those systems. According to the Social Security Administration’s estimate - immigrants (including illegal immigrants) pay some $13 billion into the nation’s retirement fund every year, while they received only about $1 billion in return.

Proposed Trump rule change could put millions of legal immigrants at risk of deportation
Currently, immigrants who rely on, or are expected to rely on, the government for more than half of their income are considered “public charges” and can be banned from entering the country or deported, even if they’re otherwise eligible for extended residency.
Immigrants who rely completely on welfare programs or long-term Medicaid benefits are typically considered public charges, but the Trump administration wants to extend those guidelines to include immigrants who use public housing, subsidies to help pay for health insurance, food stamps, income tax credits, the Children's Health Insurance Program and non-emergency uses of Medicaid, according to a White House draft obtained by The Washington Post.
A recent study by The New England Journal of Medicine found that the changes “could have important consequences for access to medical care and the health of millions of immigrants and their families.” An estimated 1 million noncitizens would lose their insurance, the study found.
---------------------------------------- i could not care less about the money or the economy . My concern [for one] is with schools for young Americans plus American kids that have to grow up with these third worlders when they have to attend school with scads of third worlders and ESL . And as far as economy and money , i always made money in my 69 years and my Dad as a single wage earner in the house made money enough to raise and feed 5 kids and a wife and there were very few legal or illegal imported third worlders in the USA Coyote ...

Why do they completely rely on welfare why don't they have jobs and pay for themselves? Are they just lazy and expect American taxpayers to fund them and their family?

“So...Trump’s now going after legal immigrants.”
This is because like his supporters and most on the right, Trump is a frightened, hateful bigot and racist.
And like most conservatives, Trump has an unwarranted fear of immigrants and immigration; an unwarranted fear of change and diversity; and an unwarranted fear that ‘white culture’ will be ‘replaced.’
