Instead of just making silly drive by comments, how about you elaborate?

Sure.

If this president* doesn't drop trou and take a dump behind the podium and then light his hair on fire, he's being presidential.

But, he's wearing a flag pin.

Winning!

This makes no more sense than your previous comment. Now, what exactly is your problem with his speech again? Which parts did you disagree with?

Actually, it makes perfect sense to people with IQs greater than the average turnip.

Let me break it down for you ...

... to be generous, the man speaks at a third grade level ...

... his policy prescriptions are completely divorced from reality ...

... and, his attempt to play on peoples fears and emotions and to their worst natures is craven and cynical ...

... but, because he turned the volume down a notch, he appeared "presidential" ...

... that, and he wore a flag pin.

How much lower can the bar possibly be set?

Which policies are you referring to? YOU have yet to make any kind of point whatsoever.

How is he playing on people's fears? Who is to say he doesn't share those fears?

None of his policies make sense in the reality base world, but let's focus on the three biggies ...

1) Healthcare - he's promised that Obamacare will be replaced with something "better" and no one will lose their coverage. Last night he floated the old "tax credits" plan. Under this plan, 30% would lose their coverage in Medicaid expansion states and 50% in non-Medicaid expansion states. Big fail.

2) the Budget - he had the temerity to criticize Obama's fiscal irresponsibility, but then went on to tick off his own list of budget busting goodies, including "massive" tax cuts, huge increases in defense spending, plus the wall ... bear in mind that he has to get Congress to sign off on this and has promised to make all of this happen without touching people's retirement security. This simply does not add up. Big fail.

3) Foreign Policy - he proclaimed, "our allies will find that America is once again ready to lead", but wants to expand our nuclear arsenal, slash the State Department budget by 37%, and build a border wall. These actions will not make America stronger, they will leave us isolated and ultimately more vulnerable. Big fail.

And, don't even get me started on his astounding hypocrisy on the environment and women's health.

But, he wore a flag pin ...

... so, there's that.

About healthcare . . .

Trump's outline for replacing Obamacare included:

  • Ensuring people with pre-existing health conditions are guaranteed "access" to health insurance, "and that we have a stable transition for Americans currently enrolled in the health-care exchanges.
  • Giving people who buy their own health coverage tax credits and expanded health savings accounts to help pay for their coverage, as well as flexibility about the design of their plans.
  • Give states "the resources and flexibility" in their Medicaid programs "to make sure no one is left out." Medicaid covers primarily poor people.
  • Legal reforms to protect doctors and patients "from unnecessary costs" that drive up insurance costs, and to bring down the price of high-cost drugs.
  • Creating a national insurance marketplace that allows insurers to sell health plans across state lines.
Trump said Obamacare's mandate that nearly all Americans have some form of health insurance or face a fine "was never the right choice for America."

He cited the fact that premiums rose sharply for individual health insurance plans this year, and that one-third of U.S. counties are served by just one insurer that sells individual health plans.

Number 2? Well, we have to wait and see if he does some cutting of government spending which is more the reason that we are in debt rather than not raising taxes. *eye rolls* Do you realize how much the government spends??? It is absolutely absurd!

US Budget in 1 Day: $10,460,188,800.
For the year 2011:
- The US Government spends $10,460,188,800 (~$10 billion, 460 million) per day (both portions)
- Of the total money shown above, the US Government borrows $4,506,849,315 (4 billion, 506 million) each day.

(I could probably find something more recent, and it's probably even MORE by now).

As to #3, leave us isolated how? What makes us vulnerable is allowing refugees here from war zones. How do you feel "vulnerable" otherwise?

Nice to see our President wearing an American flag pin again.

If he wore TWO of those pins, would he be DOUBLY patriotic?

If we wore no pin, it would mean he was ashamed of America; perhaps feel compelled to apologize for America.

Would it?

I see it differently. He wears the pin because he's trying to get the votes of people who think wearing a pin is important. Simples.

Simples. Americans think their President should be proud of the Flag.

Virtually by definition, capitalism does not have any safety net at all. While capitalism offers anyone unlimited opportunities for success, it also offers unlimited opportunities for failure.

As you know, Finland is not Socialist. Like the other Scandinavian countries, they are not socialist, they have chosen to impose massive taxes on themselves. They still have income classes and, born into one, there is little or no chance of improving oneself. You are happy with that, most Americans are not.

For you beloved Socialism, see Venezuela.

One thing that is true about all those countries if you are born poor you will die poor. In America, you can achieve anything if you have the desire, the talent and the inclination.

This is the just one unique aspect of the United States. The right of the individual to be as important as any concept. The fact that the history of the U.S includes fighting and beating the greatest power on earth to earn your independence. Right from the beginning, America was forged to be exceptional and it rewards those who strive to be.

Furthermore, you can look even further, Americans are more generous, giving a great deal more to charity than most countries, defenders of Faith and countries who are in peril.

Without America the world would be an entirely different and darker place in 2017, you can bet your right arm on that assertion.

Typical braindead dupe....Reaganism is killing us- Pander to the rich and bs propaganda, dupe.

The Demise of the American Middle Class In Numbers.

Over the past 35 years the American dream has gradually disappeared. The process was slow, so most people didn’t notice. They just worked a few more hours, borrowed a little more and cut back on non-essentials. But looking at the numbers and comparing them over long time periods, it is obvious that things have changed drastically. Here are the details:

1. WORKERS PRODUCE MORE BUT THE GAINS GO TO BUSINESS.

Over the past 63 years worker productivity has grown by 2.0% per year.

But after 1980, workers received a smaller share every year. Labor’s share of income (1992 = 100%):

1950 = 101%
1960 = 105%
1970 = 105%
1980 = 105% – Reagan
1990 = 100%
2000 = 96%
2007 = 92%

A 13% drop since 1980

2. THE TOP 10% GET A LARGER SHARE.

Share of National Income going to Top 10%:

1950 = 35%
1960 = 34%
1970 = 34%
1980 = 34% – Reagan
1990 = 40%
2000 = 47%
2007 = 50%

An increase of 16% since Reagan.

3. WORKERS COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF INCOME BY SPENDING THEIR SAVINGS.

The savings Rose up to Reagan and fell during and after.

1950 = 6.0%
1960 = 7.0%
1970 = 8.5%
1980 = 10.0% – Reagan
1982 = 11.2% – Peak
1990 = 7.0%
2000 = 2.0%
2006 = -1.1% (Negative = withdrawing from savings)

A 12.3% drop after Reagan.

4. WORKERS ALSO BORROWED TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS.

Household Debt as percentage of GDP:

1965 = 46%
1970 = 45%
1980 = 50% – Reagan
1990 = 61%
2000 = 69%
2007 = 95%

A 45% increase after 1980.

5. SO THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICHEST AND THE POOREST HAS GROWN.

Gap Between the Share of Capital Income earned by the top 1%
and the bottom 80%:

1980 = 10%
2003 = 56%

A 5.6 times increase.

6. AND THE AMERICAN DREAM IS GONE.

The Probably of Moving Up from the Bottom 40% to the Top 40%:

1945 = 12%
1958 = 6%
1990 = 3%
2000 = 2%

A 10% Decrease.

How did they take them out of the workforce?

By making welfare, food stamps, free phones, free internet, subsidized housing, no requirement to work much easier to get making laying back on the couch more attractive than working.

As part of petulant former President Barack Hussein Obama's failed stimulus, the highly successful 1996 Welfare Reform Act signed after vetoing twice, by former President Clinton the requirement to work for welfare was eliminated.
