The Bush legacy

As I recall, we now have an all volunteer military. Do you think those who sign up don't know what could happen to them?

Those volunteer soldiers place their trust in the President to not make frivolous decisions with their lives

Bush failed

Gosh, the families of 5,000 dead young American soldiers and multiple thousands more young maimed American soldiers may think something's missing from that list.

And what do you think the proper response to 9/11 should have been? A president is responsible for the decsions he makes. Someone who volunteers for a job he can very likely be killed doing is also responsible for the decisions they make. Back when my son was around 14 or 15 he wanted to become a Marine like my dad was in WWII. I neither encouraged or discouraged him. I did however give him full disclosure. I told him if he joined, I'd be the proudest dad in the world. I also told him that Marines are first to fight. Marines get shot at and they die. He needed to consider all the facts before deciding what to do. At 20, he is in college studying engineering and not in the military by his own choice.

He thinks they should be like Obama..come out and blame the attack on a American citizen and a youtube video

Really?
Al Qaeda had nothing to do with it?
they were there in 2002
How about WMDs?
every-one knows they were there and according to the UN 6000 are still missing
What about the millions Saddam Murdered?
And ecxactly what profits are you reffering too?

in a war zone? Providing service for our troops?

Iraq and al Qaeda had no operational ties. Without such ties, the US Congress did not authorize the president to use military force.

No WMD were produced by Iraq after the first gulf war. Furthermore without the ability to strike the US with a WMD, Iraq was not an immediate threat to the world remaining super power. Without such a threat, the US Congress did not authorize the president to use military force.

President Bush(43) will go down as having made the worst military blunder in US history. He is a failed president.

The Iraq Resolution or the Iraq War Resolution (formally the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002,[1] Pub.L. 107–243, 116 Stat. 1498, enacted October 16, 2002, H.J.Res. 114) is a joint resolution passed by the United States Congress in October 2002 as Public Law No: 107-243, authorizing military action against Iraq.

There is an interesting sidebar to this. It later emerged that [Abu Musab] al-Zarqawi, the deputy to bin Laden, had come to Iraq in May 2002, had had meetings with senior Iraqis and established a presence there in October 2002. This intelligence has not been withdrawn, by the way. Probably we should have paid more attention to its significance, but we were so keen not to make a false claim about al Qaeda and Saddam that we somewhat understated it, at least on the British side.

A declassified report released yesterday by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence revealed that U.S. intelligence analysts were strongly disputing the alleged links between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda while senior Bush administration officials were publicly asserting those links to justify invading Iraq.

Far from aligning himself with al-Qaeda and Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Hussein repeatedly rebuffed al-Qaeda's overtures and tried to capture Zarqawi, the report said. Tariq Aziz, the detained former deputy prime minister, has told the FBI that Hussein "only expressed negative sentiments about [Osama] bin Laden."

The report also said exiles from the Iraqi National Congress (INC) tried to influence U.S. policy by providing, through defectors, false information on Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons capabilities.

The UN said different 1-27-2003
The document indicates that 13,000 chemical bombs were dropped by the Iraqi Air Force between 1983 and 1988, while Iraq has declared that 19,500 bombs were consumed during this period. Thus, there is a discrepancy of 6,500 bombs. The amount of chemical agent in these bombs would be in the order of about 1,000 tonnes. In the absence of evidence to the contrary, we must assume that these quantities are now unaccounted for.

The discovery of a number of 122 mm chemical rocket warheads in a bunker at a storage depot 170 km southwest of Baghdad was much publicized. This was a relatively new bunker and therefore the rockets must have been moved there in the past few years, at a time when Iraq should not have had such munitions.

I might further mention that inspectors have found at another site a laboratory quantity of thiodiglycol, a mustard gas precursor.

WMDs were found as noted by the UN here-in
and
Al Qaeda with direct ties to 9-11 were in Iraq, 2002, prior to our invasion

The 6000 munitions still missing are not GWB fault
the 500 found were never even by GWB in public claimed, but were claimed in congress
in addition there is a butt load of anthrax still missing that Saddam said he had and there is as noted here-in Missles found just prior to invasion that were not suppose to exist

Re peating the same lies has done more harm to this country for an agenda for reasons you only can explain

Iraq never revived any WMD programs after Gulf War I.

The UNSC did not authorize the use of military force to remove Saddam from power. Ever.

Ansar al-Islam operated in the US protected Free Kurdish Zone during 2002.

Bush came into office with dreams of an historic presidency

Once 9-11 occurred, Bush had his shot at being one of the greatest Presidents in history. He had unlimited support both at home and abroad to fight terrorism. He instituted the Bush doctrine where he would reshape the Islamic world as a democracy

He looked at Afghanistan and Iraq as the keys. Instil Democracies by force and Iran, Syria, Libya would follow. A Democratic Domino Theory with Bush as its founder and Americans as liberators. It would be over in a few months

Instead he got civil wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He destabilized the region and made Iran more powerful. Instead of being treated as liberators, we were treated as unwanted conquerors. 6000 American dead and trillions in debt.

At home, he ran up unchecked debt that he passed on to Obama in tax cuts and unpaid wars. When the economy tanked, he followed republican doctrine and let it self correct. The result was an economic collapse that he had no idea what to do. Banks collapsing, GDP tanking, 700,000 jobs lost each month, auto industry collapsing

That is the legacy of George W Bush
