If we were to put fairness on a scale though, then the rich are actually paying disproportionately due to progressive taxation.

We need progressive tax brackets. Heck raise the top bracket to 70%. If its not fair too bad, better for them not to have caviar every night and us have a roof over our heads. The vets , those without legs and arms who fight the wars for the wealthy ones, live a horrible life of pain and disability. Heck why should the rich pay more in taxes.
