There is simply no denying that "The New Deal" was the ultimate raw deal for the American people. It destroyed the U.S. Constitution and consolidated power into the hands of one person inside the Executive Branch. It was a return to the monarchy from which we fought to escape. Listen to the words of the man behind the raw deal - and note his recurring theme: control. It is chilling more than 70 years later to realize how all of this has come to fruition...

Glenn Beck is a hack. He misrepresented the book. For that matter you are a hack as well.
He read it word-for-word, stupid. Watching you libtards attempt to deny reality is fall down hilarious.
How do you know? Have you also read it? I have.
Yes, stupid. Any other lies you'd like to attempt while we're both here?
Liar.

The new deal saved America, the alternative was a country where the rich lived behind walls with armed guards and everyone else wanting to string them up. Capitalism was dead as Elvis as money simply quit flowing through the economy. The WPA/TVA/REA gave the rural working man the first real paycheck he had ever seen and finally freed them from subsistence agriculture. Now here we are with every rural county served by electricity, roads, flood control, sanitation and the conservative dickheads there badmouthing the new deal. It's like badmouthing truckers with your mouth full.
No matter how many times you repeat liberal propaganda - it doesn't make it true. The raw deal has destroyed America. We're $19 trillion in debt and it started with the raw deal. We have record number of people on food stamps - and it started with the raw deal. We have record number of people who have dropped out of the work force - and it started with the raw deal.

Furthermore - even if your liberal propaganda lies were true - it doesn't even matter. The entire concept of the United States was liberty - not about "prosperity". If people like you couldn't figure out how to survive and thrive under liberty, oh well. It didn't justify violating the law and pissing all over the U.S. Constitution.
What do you figure we would have had the poor dragged every rich man out for a necktie party? No one who condemns the new deal is interested in looking at what it did at the time, they just blame it for any current mess we have. When you consider it in it's contemporary context, what was going on at the time, it is clear something had to give. Real socialist/communist parties were getting stronger every day. Anarchists were everywhere, domestic terrorism was common. All of it was because the rich had all the money and was not letting it out. At the time it seemed capitalism was a dead end. Without the new deal you cannot even say what this country would be like had a courageous president not put people to work.
Similarly, fascism was the means to save capitalism in Italy.
Capitalism needs no "saving". Communism, socialism, fascism, etc. all destroy capitalism and then you lying libtards blame it on capitalism. It's vintage Cloward & Piven.

After WWI and the great depression masses of people were disenchanted with capitalism. In Italy workers took control of the factories. Mussolini reclaimed them for the capitalists.

Can you imagine the left if unhindered by the Constitution, this country would be Nazi Germany.
The closest we ever came to being Nazi Germany was when a bunch of arch capitalist mega rich hatched a scheme to take over the government. The Nazis' open hatred of intellectuals, leftist literature and the labor unionists did not really appeal to the left who instead embraced men like Eugene Debs and his populist/socialist ideals. The American industrialists saw how Hitler crushed organized labor and rebuilt Germany at gun point and wanted some of that.

The government owns LESS than it used to.
Any other lies you want to attempt?

President Obama made history last year in a massive, 260 million acre expansion of national public lands and waters, more than any previous president in history, including Teddy Roosevelt. Apparently, the president wasn’t satisfied with that milestone. He now has his sights on an additional two million acres in Utah where the federal government already controls 66.5% of the land.

Obama’s Latest Land Grab: 2 Million Acres in Utah

Let's leave Obama out of this. America was far more nationalised per capita before 1945.

It just was.
You can claim that all you want junior - but I have links proving otherwise while you've offered nothing but your own (uninformed) opinion.
There's nothing about percentage in those links.

Disenchanted is putting it mildly, had Roosevelt not acted in the interests of getting things moving again it is likely we would be a lot more socialist today after the rich were eaten alive.

Maybe, I don't believe the situation was as dire here as it was in Europe.

The NEW DEAL created so much infrastructure during the FDR era that there is an organization that tries to document all those positive accomplishments, project by project. While some of the projects have fallen into disrepair due to lack of attention and maintenance, thousands of those projects are still being used today and benefitting Americans 80 years after the era.

Who can say what would have happened if the depression had dragged on with little action from Washington while the super rich continued to live like royalty in a country of serfs. The times were ripe for populism and it is probably a good thing Roosevelt placed himself in the role of savior of the working man. Another man might not have been as interested in keeping the rich alive and in control of their wealth. Of course this is all speculation but it is a fact that a hungry man is an angry man. Woody Guthrie said:

"Now a very great man once said that some people can rob you with a fountain pen; it don't take too long to find out, just what people are talkin about. Alot of people got no food on the table; but they got alot of forks and knives...and they gotta cut somethin."

Yesterday you were you were applauding government intervention, HYPOCRITE.
Now THIS is how it is done

I wonder why the American people elected FDR four times and America's top historians rate FDR as "best American president"? Maybe one had to live though the Great Depression to realize what FDR meant to the American people?
When FDR died a new president took office just as the Constitution said.

Here is an example of a project that provided jobs and infrastructure and is serving today as the ;home of the Air Terminal Museum in Houston, TX.
livingnewdeal.org/projects/1940-air-terminal-museum-houston-tx/
The south is full of dams that keep the place from washing away as it once did on a regular basis. All built by TVA or REA. Today they sit there complaining about government spending not even caring that it was what saved them from constant flooding and gave them electricity they are still using. The folklore of the old south is full of flood stories but it seems they have forgotten.

The TVA brought electricity to one of the poorest and most depressed regions in America. Electricity brought manufacturing jobs and created permanent good jobs to the region.
Note should be taken that the folks who slam the New Deal and FDR use unemployment figures that count all the workers who built those dams as "unemployed" because the jobs were "relief" programs. Never mind that the workers were employed and collecting paychecks.

Our debt began with the Revolutionary War and continued until a Democratic president, Jackson paid it off. Republicans talk about the debt but as usual, just talk.
The concept of America was more than liberty, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, were also mentioned, and even that was just a start.

Idiot.
FDR's Treasury Secretary.....

"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong … somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises. … I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started. … And an enormous debt to boot.[13]"

We had our own brush with fascism when a bunch of very rich men inspired by Germany formed a conspiracy to launch a military coup. No telling where it would have went had the general they picked to lead the army seizure of Washington had not squealed to congress.
The New Deal was fascism, dumbass.

Washington created they depression, numbskull. FDR and Hoover turn what would have been a sharp but short recession into a depression. Hoover signed Smoot Hawley. If you want to understand how the did it, read the following:
