I have noticed the game you teapers play...someone asks you a question and you respond with a nonsense question instead of an answer. And you guys wonder why people think the teapers are suspect.

You also said most of the agencies were created to meet a need, now answer my question, what are the three major accomplishments of the DOE?

And I asked you questions first. As for the need of a Department of Education, to keep the nation's schools competitive and the nation educated. Has that effort failed...maybe, maybe not - it depends on how you look at it.

Actually after almost 35 years and 1.5 trillion dollars, graduation rates and test scores are lower with no real improvement in sight. The DOE has proven itself to worthless time and again, yet we throw more money at it every year. One of Reagans biggest failures, in my opinion was not dismantling it like he promised, the dems wouldn't let him.

Given our current debt situation and interest payments even at 10% we'd still be hosed.............

The system is going to have to take over 20% cuts to equalize........................

Historical data shows average revenues at 18.1% of GDP, as we spend at 24%...........and rising............

This doesn't include no new spending or earmarks.........aka Spending freezes...........

I've spent a lot of time in the past on threads pushing the data.......not just on this site...................

All I've ever gotten from those against the cuts are to ignore the data................and use emotion to rule the day............I'm used to that and refuse to engage in a specific battle until they show up with a plan other than tax the hell out of the system.

We could get into the Federal Reserve. I've ticked off both sides on this issue. Why are we paying a 6% fee to the Federal Reserve Stock holders for creating Fiat money to pay the mortgage on this country??????????? The Constitution gives that ability without a fee..............

QE's...............Insanity, propping up a failed recovery and a lousy recovery.......

We are living beyond our means, and it's time to pay the piper. The longer we wait to deal with it the worse off we are.............but no one is listening.

We should demand efficiency and work to trim the debt. Just taking an axe to all of science or infrastructure will leave us worse off. How about cutting deeper into welfare or over sea's bases?

There's programs that aren't causing our debt at all and would suffer greatly under a 10% across the board.
