Did you notice in the video they posted, they conveniently left off the "peacefully and patriotically" part of his speech...almost as if they were deliberately trying to mislead people.

Look, the truth is, this is just a show trial. Those senators already know how they are going to vote. All this is, is just drama played out for public consumption. I've actually heard it said that ALL debates on the senate and house floor are for the TV cameras only.
