Fail.Except there is no evidence of such a thing. Post it or STFU.OK so that's a fail on your part. That isn't the test of whether immigrant labor drives down wages.
There is no evidence employers pay less than legal wages.
And no evidence illegals drive down wages either.
Spare us your economic idiocy. The laws of supply and demand say that if the supply of labor increases, then price will go down.
You fail.
Oh wait. You never post anyting to back up what you say. You're like the JakeStarkey of USMB.
There's no evidence for the laws of supply and demand? Really?
Once again you belly flop when confronted with a challenge to your preconceived notions.
OOps.
Illegal Immigrants Don't Lower Our Wages Or Take Our Jobs
Deflection/claims of bias coming in 3...2...1....
"Myriam Quispe-Agnoli, and Fernando Rios-Avila find that documented workers’ wages rise with increases in the share of undocumented workers in a worker’s county and employed by their employers."
Yeah, there's a couple of unbiased researchers - a couple of immigrant economists who think they proved the laws of supply and demand are invalid.
Sheesh, you'll swallow anything, won't you?
Here's the nut of their moronic argument:
Why? The law of comparative advantage says we get more productive when we have more trading partners, and the arrival of undocumented workers with limited English skills frees up low-skill American workers who can then specialize in tasks that require better English.
What does comparative advantage have to do with the labor supply inside one country? The answer is nothing. Comparative advantage is about trade between countries. English skills certainly aren't of any use in trading with foreign countries that don't speak English.
As for specializing in tasks that require better English, what makes anyone think there are such tasks? If a guy is qualified to dig ditches, how will his English skills find him a better job? He's not qualified to run heavy equipment or program computers. The only thing he's "freed up" for is the unemployment line.
