It did so with the Jews between the world wars and now the same rhetoric is being used to promote hatred against Muslims while they're courting the Jews in an attempt to become politically mainstream. Underneath, it's the same old anti-semitism and the supporters of those movements spout the same old canards. I don't think it's a big problem for German Jews. I think Jews in France have a harder time of it, because they are also faced with antisemitism from Islamic migrants.

That kind of rhetoric is dangerous and divisive, and it seeks to scapegoat - not bring together.
