Time to take the Pledge about Climate

So you claim you need Biden? Doing what?
Depends. What's the issue. Sometimes I need Biden to do things, sometimes I need him to stop Republicans from doing things. Like cutting social security and banning abortion. Two things we know Republicans want to do but they can't be too obvious about it. They need to wait till the time is right. The ultimate goal of course being a federal law that abortion is murder and a 25% cut to your benefits from age 65-death. How long you hope to live? $500 a month cut to your social security. That's a lot o money. We could give makers more tax breaks if we cut your benefits.

When have Republicans slashed Social Security? I collect and know it keeps increasing.
The SC removed Roe v Wade. It was wrong in the first place. What is happening is women have been desensitized so now they think killing their own children is fine.

All the Court did was kick it to the States. I will remind everybody a state is similar to a complete country. It is why we call it the United States. Each is different. If one loves abortions, they can use the services where abortions are not illegal. In CA where I spent most of my life I could go to grocery stores and buy hard liquor. But here in Idaho a state store sells it. Some states ban you filling the gas tank of your own car and you must have the attendant fill it. Idaho has a different law. States are excellent due to them not being so extreme in size for the most part if you want to live under a different law, you can.
Frankly I collect Social Security and to make me happy, double it. It would make me extremely happy were Democrats to double it.

That's like asking "when have Republicans ever banned abortion" a day before the Supreme Court's decision to overturn roe. Just wait.

Trump talks about cutting social security to save it. Oh don't worry dummy. That will be what happens. In about 10 years. But I guess since it hasn't happened yet, I must be wrong about it happening in the future.

Just like Republicans would NEVER pass a law banning abortion. Even though they think it's murder. Just like they hate social security. It's socialism. They swore to destroy it from day one and boy did they do a good job. And blamed it all on Democrats. Well, let's ask the rich to put the money back.

Are you concerned at all over the Federal Budget process? I used to get the monthly reports from the Feds, back when there was an annual budget. Why do you think they now do not do an annual budget? I sense you believe Trump will again be the president. Trump does a lot of talking but congress is the roadblock.

Social Security is socialism. Fortunately not everything about the Feds is socialism.

The Rich keep pouring in their incomes. They now pay for around 90 percent of the spending by the Feds. It seems to me to be illegal to focus on a small group and make them pay most of the bills.

I want to comment about my former life as a devoted Democrat.
It was not a solitary thing that converted me. It was not immediate. I am not fickle at all. I do not lightly keep tally on the Feds and have actual budget experience concerning large operations.

How many forms of taxes do we all pay? Not merely income taxes. We also pay sales taxes. We do not fill out forms and tell the Government how much sales taxes we pay. The only tax that does that is the Federal income taxes. Think of this as big Government watching you closely.

They pay 90% because they make 90%. Why do you keep ignoring that? But in the past they paid more. Go back to that. DOn't say impossible. It's not. You're just duped by corporate America. Stop arguing for them if you are a worker bee dummy

My brother is rich. I remember a time he made half as much and paid more taxes. Why are you crying for him? He was making $500K and now makes $1 million. And you're crying that he can't afford to pay more taxes? Boy are you a house slave or what?

No, the Feds are the bankers who helped Bush fuck us in 2008

So one day you saw Freedom to Fascism and then you stopped voting for Democrats?

You sound like the guy who lit himself on fire the other day.

Nope, I was like the majority of students. History and economics was not real interesting to me when I was in college. I loved science. I was not always an A student in maths but if the math solved problems, I would get A grades. Geometry for instance to me was not very interesting until analytic geometry. That solves problems using math.
What started me away from Democrats was the book A Time for Truth. I wanted the truth. I read it. It was true. I suggest this book to every citizen. The author is William E. Simon. It should be assigned reading in all high schools.

Simon calls on his experience as Treasury Secretary under two presidents (Nixon and Ford)

The U.S. abandoned the gold standard in 1971 to curb inflation and prevent foreign nations from overburdening the system by redeeming their dollars for gold.

The Nixon Shock relates to an economic policy shift undertaken by President Nixon to prioritize jobs growth, lower inflation, and exchange rate stability.

Didn't Bill Clinton have a projected surplus? If you want to give Newt some credit fine but imagine if Bush didn't give the rich and corporations all those tax breaks in the 2000's and imagine if he didn't lie us into Iraq. Perhaps we'd still have that surplus?

What apifinys were in the book?

I was getting monthly, when Clinton was president, the Budget reports. Bill never forcast any surplus. The reason he had one was due to the Dot.com Boom. Which was converted from a dream to actually meaning a lot.

A huge problem with the Gold Standard is it is not really very useful. It has drastic limits on quantity. As population grows, it stagnates growth. I see why some want it. But if they had it, they would be quick to want it gone again.

I have the book in my library and I have to read it again to get very specific.

I so not see the rich as you see them. I see them as those who produce the economy we love. Harming them is like slapping your own mother in her face. Apparently your brother did well and you are upset at it.

First you say Bill never forecasted a projected surplus and then you say he reason he had one. Make up your mind.

And that means Dot.com boom has nothing to do with his projected surplus. Do you know what that is? It means, if we only spend this much, which I have budgeted for, then in the future we will have a surplus.

What are you saying about the dot com boom? I think you are doing the classic republican bullshit thing where you give Clinton no credit and try to give Bush a pass because of this coming recession.

Well I got news for you pall. We see a lot of recessions come and go. How big they are depend on how the president handles them. Bush handled everything in 2001 to 2008 very very badly. All bad decisions. But I notice all his decisions made either Chaney's company haloburton rich or made the rich richer. It's almost as if he did everything he did on purpose.

The economy was not in trouble when Bill left office. Maybe they projected a small recession coming. So bush used that to give away Bill's surplus. Said it was the people's money he was just returning it.

But we know Bush planned invading Iraq in the 90's. Google PNAC. So why did he give the surplus away if he knew he was going to lie us into a 20 year war?

Bush handed every citizen a tax break. If a person earns a small amount, how can you hand them a massive tax break? Naturally if one earns millions, he has paid millions to labor, millions to firms, millions more to other places all that pay taxes on what they got paid.
The only party I know of who can be accused of lying us into Iraq is General Colin Powell. But he trusted the information he spent two weeks getting from the CIA.
For what it is worth, Iraq is now a far better country absent Saddam Hussein than it was with him in charge.

From 1978 to now, labor lost it's seat at the table. And from that time, CEO pay skyrocketed 1033%. No coincidence. If the company he worked for was unionized his pay wouldn't have skyrocketed up to 1.7 million.

You know who else did well? The two diversity candidates he trailed to take over for him. So while I am upset his pay went from $500K to $1.7 million, you should know the woman he found to replace him now makes $4 million. Because diversity candidates are hard to find. And the black guy he found, makes 4 x what my brother makes. Now that it's diversity candidates getting overpaid, I'm sure it's YOU who is now upset.

And now they have to pass that on to you, the consumer.
AND, you as an employee aren't going to get a raise this year because your black female bosses are overpaid. But you don't care. You consider them makers and we're just takers.

God you're dumb.

No Bush lied. Just ask Trump

“When she first got in and was named speaker, I met her. And I’m very impressed by her. I think she’s a very impressive person. I like her a lot. But I was surprised that she didn’t, it just seemed like she was going to impeach Bush and get him out of office, which personally I think would’ve been a wonderful thing,” “Impeaching him?” Blitzer asked.

“Absolutely. For the war. For the war,” said Trump, referring to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. “Well, he lied. He got us into the war with lies, and I mean, look at the trouble Bill Clinton got into with something that was totally unimportant and they tried to impeach him, which was nonsense. And yet Bush got us into this horrible war with lies. By lying. By saying they had weapons of mass destruction. By saying all sorts of things that turned out not to be true.”

Asked about the remarks during a presidential debate eight years later, Trump said, “you do whatever you want – you call it whatever you want,” and reiterated his belief that the Bush administration lied.

I bet that of all posters on this forum. I am the sole person who actually tracked the US budget for a long time. I did not rip Clinton for not predicting the dot.com explosion. I am saying he did not predict it. His budget surplus was not planned for. I have done a good many budgets and realize only fools believe they can always get what they predict. It is not to lash out at Clinton at all.

Think if you can like this. The Federal Budget is like we have to try to control a ship that is 500 miles long and has powerful engines. If you are lucky you don't hit a bridge.

My mortgage firm did well when Bush was president. I recall talking to a woman at a loan firm that the next day the place was closed down. It was like shit hit the fan in just one day. Haliburton only did some things in Iraq. But Cheney was long gone when that happened. Bush did not plan to invade Iraq in the 90s. I fault his dad for not properly dealing with Saddam in fact. Saddam was a grave and gathering danger to the world. If you miss him, holy shit.

Well burn down that crude strawman. It is not accurate at all when it comes to me.

I am on record on this forum plus others of my past that Trump talks a hell of a lot. And when one is selective, they will try to claim he admits he lived on the Moon. I take that shit with a grain of salt. I will assume you are correct. I will not assume Trump told the facts.
Democrats have their own fiction about Bill Clinton and how he managed to get his ass disbarred and pay an enormous sum to a woman.
I realize to Democrats he got shit on. But what about the woman he caused her life to tumble down?

A top book you should read if you want to truly understand Iraq and also Afghanistan is by the Commanding General who was in charge. He is no bullshitter. General Tommy Franks lays it out like a rug. After you study his book, check out a General Speaks out for added truth. Mike Delong debunks a lot of the stuff called lies by democrats.

Labor should not manage companies. Just chat with labor long enough and you realize they can't manage companies. Very few firms pay outrageous amounts to CEOS. If a CEO gets lucky, he might work for one of them. But the vast majority of CEOS are not remotely that lucky. I have been on both ends of that wagon. When I was in the Union, I saw we had several key people who ran the union and they made plenty of money. I was never jealous of firms.
I spent close to 9 years working for Raymond Concrete Pile that became Raymond International. They are gone. The firm started in the 1880s I think and had over 9,000 employees when I worked for them. Vanished. They do not exist. It does not make a difference if the CEO when I worked for them made a million per year. They are gone.

What happened to Sears and Roebuck? What about Montgomery Ward? CEOs that bleed dry a firm end their own career. Why don't you see that? Directors who let a CEO get that powerful deserve being out of business.
