Trump has not built any new fence - sorry, but I told you

Rat judges have prevented new fencing but Chertoff's fence has been replaced and repaired...saying there is no "new" fence is a lie.

I think they meant no "entirely new" wall where there was no barrier or wall or fence before.
There may have been some replacement of previously existing fence, but nothing new where it never existed before that I'm aware of.
Nevermind the fact that he's replacing fencing that wasn't keeping anyone out.

This is how the left operates. Half-truths and outright lies.
By the time we found out they lied about this one they're already on to the next fabrication.

Those here illegally process the food we eat. They prepare the meals we eat. They watch our children. Do we not want to make sure they are healthy?

You can argue that you do not want them to do that but they are and no one is addressing that.

Specifically what percentage of those here illegally do the things you listed? Secondly, with respect to that percentage of illegals who actually do the things you listed, why should their healthcare and government subsidies take priority over that of U.S. citizens who do all of the things you listed? In other words, why should illegals specifically get free healthcare and free income subsidies when many of the things being promised specifically to illegals by the current Democratic presidential candidates are not even available to U.S. citizens, and in fact take benefits away from U.S. citizens? By way of example, recent proposed legislation providing subsidies to illegals, while cutting VA benefits to injured service members.

This is a patent example of pandering (a "lure" as Sealybobo put it) and it's disappointing that people aren't able to recognize that. These types of "cornucopia" promises are made every 4 years and you'd think people would wise up and see the motivating factors for what they are, but yet it's always the same shit, different year.

I have no idea, I just know that they are working those jobs.

It shouldn't. I support affordable health care for all.

Well to be fair. The question was asked if those here illegally should be able to access health care. If you ask the question at least some of them would note that American citizens should be able to also. For those who would not support that, yes that would be a hypocritical, pandering statement for them to make.

Exactly. This type of "border barrier" was not keeping anyone out:

It is being replaced with the bollard wall design selected by Trump and his engineers

Thus, the "replacement" barrier wall is, for all intents and purposes, new barrier wall construction since the old "barrier" did not prevent people from crossing, it was intended as a vehicle barrier.

U. S. Customs & Border Protection announce the official start of construction for new bollard wall to replace 20-miles of primary vehicle barriers.

Again, the old-style "barrier" being replaced on the left, vs. the new bollard wall on the right.

Lastly, the barriers being replaced were built in those locations because they were considered the most critical border crossing points. Thus, logic dictates that those areas are the priority for the construction of the updated barrier wall.

Of course we should stop it. Those numbers are who we stopped, dope. I've never said otherwise. You're all over the place. I've made two points. It's not an invasion and Trump has handled it incompetently.
I'm all over the place?

All I did was ask you.

So, it's not an invasion, but we should do something about it, and Trump sucks.

What? What is the plan?

I have said that South Texas is 500 miles closer than any other place in the U.S. I have said that it is the worst area that really needs some type of physical barrier.

Do you disagree?

Keep families together
Keep them together on their way back home. Problem solved.

process assylum claims honestly and efficiently
Which will result in most of these people going back home.

Run detention centers per established protocols and treat people with dignity.
Okay. I doubt anyone honestly disagrees.

At least maintain the standards of human rights we hold others to.
Okay. Again, who disagrees with that?

For these last two, all we have heard about them being mistreated is complete bullshit. Lies.

A detention facility is a nice name for a jail. That's exactly what it is. These are people suspected (guilty) of breaking the law.

Huh?
As a percentage of the population, immigrants are less than in 1920.

Why are you beginning to become insulting? Up to that point you were doing so well.

If you think about it, you might come to a different conclusion.
Many do not even want a question on the census asking whether you are a citizen or not.

What that should tell you is that the number presented is most likely not close, meaning it is more than likely MUCH higher than the figure they know of.

We really don't have any reliable current information. Maybe that's why Trump is making an attempt to gather it?

Immigrants make up roughly the same percentage of the population as they did 100 yrs ago. Perspective is a wonderful thing.

Talk about a semantics game. Saying you didn't build new wall when you're replacing things like landing mat fences and vehicle barriers with the bollard fencing, is like saying you didn't buy a new car because you had one before. Give me a fucking break.
.

Yep, that's what the FoxNews story says......

SAN DIEGO, California — The Trump administration has not installed a single mile of new wall in a previously fenceless part of the U.S.-Mexico border in the 30 months since President Trump assumed office, despite his campaign promise to construct a “big beautiful wall.”

In a statement last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the federal agency overseeing border barrier construction, confirmed that all the fencing completed since Trump took office is "in place of dilapidated designs" because the existing fence was in need of replacement.

The agency said that it had built 51 miles of steel bollard fence with funding that was set aside during fiscal 2017 and 2018. But while the funding was meant both to replace outdated walls and to place barriers where there previously had been none, the government has only completed the replacement projects. The projects to secure areas with no fence are still in the works.

The 50 miles of completed replacement barrier is a 10-mile gain since early April. In Trump’s two and a half years in office, his administration has installed an average 1.7 miles of barrier per month, and none of it in areas that did not previously have some sort of barrier. A total 205 miles of new and replacement barrier has been funded in the two and a half years since Trump took office.

A senior administration official told the Washington Examiner that Border Patrol and the Army Corps of Engineers moved faster on replacement projects than the new ones because the approval process for environmental and zoning permits was far less extensive than areas of the border with no barrier.

A second senior official defended the progress the administration's progress and blamed Democrats in Congress for blocking funding for additional projects the White House has tried to move on.

And that changes nothing about my comment. Replacing old and ineffective with new more effective, is placing new fences. My new car analogy is a perfect example. You're playing a semantics game. Hint, semantics is the last bastion of a loser.

Even in jail inmates get three hots and a cot.
Those kids, by law, are not to be held for more than 72hrs. They've been there for months.

I already said, South Texas needs a physical barrier, and I already gave the reason, but here it is again.

South Texas is 500 miles closer to the heart of Central America than the rest of the country. We need a physical barrier like this from the gulf to 50 miles north of Laredo.

Who said they haven't been given 3 hots and a cot?

By law, there must be a parent or guardian capable of caring for those children or they become wards of the state. The questions is which state are the to become wards.

Utter fantasy. It's not happening in case you haven't noticed.

By the context of my previous posts. Do you read the thread or are you a no context, hit and run poster?
All I am getting from you is that Trump and congress suck and didn't really want a stupid wall.

I am asking YOU what YOU think we should do.

.
LOL...
This is the first time you asked that, dope.

I want Trump to do what was done and worked in the past. Keep families together and process assylum claims honestly and efficiently. Run detention centers per established protocols and treat people with dignity. At least maintain the standards of human rights we hold others to.

The populations that are illegally crossing now are not the same as in the past. In the past it was single working aged males, now it's men, women and children along with unaccompanied minors. Things that worked in the past won't work now. 90% of supposed asylum seekers never show up for immigration hearings, but they have disappeared in the population. Now we have to go find them to deport them, which is made harder because they have cut off and discarded ankle monitors they were released with. Most will try to drop a kid before they are caught, thinking a citizen kid will get them a pass to stay, we can't allow that to happen.

BTW it is estimated we only catch 50-60% of illegal border crossers, so no one knows how many are actually here. Anyone tells you they do, they're lying.
