Trump Removed from Maine Primary Ballot

It will be sorted out at appeals or US Supreme Court Level. You did not expect it to be a Republican, did you. They haven't policed their own, since the days of Richard Nixon.

And you think the democrats do?? :laughing0301:

Aren't you happy that we live in a Republic and not a Democracy!

Does the U.S. Constitution suddenly mean nothing to you?

Yup, the intention of the 14th amendment Sec. 3 was to override Democracy, just in case a significant amount of voters supported a fascist turd or other such insurrectionist scum.

Link us up to Trump being convicted of insurrection, Vermin.

That possibility in no way changes the fact that the plot he orchestrated and engaged in to overturn the 2020 election result makes him unqualified to be the next prez.
Proof is what you need numbnuts and then get that proof to the FBI asap they need it

The SOS is always in charge of who gets on the ballot.

How can you not know these things?

Why not just have them elect the entire federal government then since they solely decide who gets on a state's ballot, why even bother to pretend that American citizens elect their representatives if it's that simple?

Secretary of State actually.

Having said that, absent an actual conviction for a criminal charge of such, I am not personally comfortable with this, nor do I believe SCOTUS will be.

Article 14 Sec. 3 does not require a conviction. It is not a criminal charge. Invoking it is a civil action, not a criminal action.

As a civil charge it only requires 'preponderance of evidence' - and there's plenty of evidence.

Also, since running for President is not a Constitutional or inalienable right, barring Trump does not violate his rights in any way.

She followed Maines state law with regards procedure of challenging a would candidates eligibility. You Faux Not News guys just want to believe we are just like Russia and no appeal process is in place in Maine for challenging her finding. Faux Not News tells you the lies that are most profitable for their advertising ratings. It's not really news when they lie to the flock you know.
Thanks for the view from Maddow's vagina.

Ridiculous. They had a proceeding where each side presented it's case.

"Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows (D) is the first elected official to unilaterally deem Trump ineligible to run due to the 14th Amendment's insurrection clause. The Trump campaign has vowed to challenge her decision." (This ain't Russia)

Read Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows' decision in full, via DocumentCloud:
You are ridiculous.

Some rando court held a hearing. It wasn’t a trial. And the court there determined that Trump had engaged in “the” insurrection.

There had been no insurrection in the first place. And despite that bogus label, Trump hadn’t participated or engaged in “it.”

That same judge find that the 14th Amendment wasn’t applicable to a President. Then the Colorado Supreme Court determined (on a bullshit basis) that the 14th was supposedly applicable to a President but that Trump had engaged in an “insurrection.”

The SCOTUS will shitcan that idiotic Colorado Supreme Court decision.

The SOS is in charge of setting election laws. Not given the power to negate due process.

The 14th Amendment's clauses (plural) make it clear that the entire Amendment cannot be used to deprived any citizen of due process.

Don't burst his bubble, he is a true legend in his own mind, thinks he's clever, which provides highly amusing reading material.

Why not just have Trump appoint the entire Federal government?

DUMBASS!

Trump doesn't have to be convicted......Q-NUT.

Fourteenth Amendment Equal Protection and Other Rights

  • Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
