Trump reverses course, says it's 'too soon' for Georgia Gov. Kemp to reopen state

So Trump was for reopening Georgia, before he “strongly disagreed” with it

The whole purpose of the shutdown was to keep hospitals from being overrun, mission accomplished, time to get back to work.

.
So that hospitals can be overrun. Brilliant.

Oh, we didn't spend this time ramping up our medical ability to respond to the virus?

Or you're just too dense to have noticed?
And yet hospitals are still being overwhelmed and they will be again if we "open up" too soon.

Interesting how you "know facts" we're supposed to base everything on which no one else knows.

No, what's really interesting is how you keep expecting people who actually know you to take you seriously.

Interesting that you feel the need to respond to every one of my posts with some stupid ad hominem or non sequitur. Creepy stalker much?
You are one of the most illogical posters on here. How else should she respond? The alternate reality in which you live must be fantastic.

ROFLMAO...this, coming from the guy who accuses every single person he does not agree with of being a "foreigner". You've got zero credibility when speaking of anyone else's logic.
"Every single"

Nope. More hyperbole from you.

Zero cred? I disagree again. You cannot even admit that COVID-19 originated in China. Sad.

I can, very easily and with no problem state unequivocally that the virus originated in China. What I do not do, and that causes you to stomp your little feet and wave your little fists, is blame China for COVID.

So you think China stopping domestic travel in and out of Wuhan while they allowed international travel, to and from Wuhan, was by accident?

.
Are you having difficulty with words. I said that unequivocally the virus ORIGINATED in China. What he wants me to admit that the virus is 100% China's "fault". He, like Trump, wants a scapegoat.

Apparently China intentionally allowed the virus to get out of their mainland, who else is there to blame? They were aware of the virus as early as mid Oct or early Nov and alerted no one.

.
Trump. Duh. Trump is to blame for the Wuhan Virus.

No, Trump is to blame for the piss poor response the United States has had to the virus...and for not simply shutting the fuck up and letting doctors and health experts handle the daily COVID briefings. They don't say stupid shit like shine light and shove disinfectant up your ass.

The "shining light" is currently under development in CO, it's UV light emitting diodes inserted in the tubing of respirators in the trachea, to kill bugs in the air. I currently have a UV system on my water supply, and it's very effective. Also expect to see the government to require UV systems on commercial AVAC units, it's coming.

.
You another one that didn't get the update? Your naked emperor said he was just joshin' about the light.

Trump really does make fools out of you all on a regular basis.

Wow, deflection form a commie, who'd a thunk? Care to address what I actually said?

.

What deflection? You can stop trying to cover for the moron. He said he was "kidding" (although we all know he wasn't)

are you really so stupid that you think he was telling people to drink lysol and clorox? I understand that a sense of humor and liberalism do not exist in the same person. You, winger, and a few others confirm the defective liberal gene theory every day on this board.

No. I was employing hyperbole. Damn close though...

“I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that,”

do you understand the meaning of the words "something like that" ?

Do you understand that we know your emperor has no clothes no matter how often you try to describe what you think he's wearing?
You keep using that but that is not the right context. You have lost all credibility anyway when you didn't blame the Chinese Evil Communist Regime for this virus.
It is absolutely the right context.

I'm really not concerned that a troll on tje internet doesn't think I have "credibility" simply because I won't jump on his "blame China" train.

Hey, did you hea r you're not immune even though you claim you had COVID? Just an "FYI". I know Fox's coverage can be sketchy.
China is an evil communist regime. It would be like not blaming Nazi Germany for WW2. You're an uneducated buffoon.

Thanks for playing "really bad analogies". COVID is a virus not an army or an invading force. You're a pretty sad individual if you so desperately need someone to scapegoat.
It is a biological attack at best due to their carelessness. NOT a scapegoat. This is their fault.

Oh, so now it's a biological" attack"? Way to double down on the sad and pathetic.
What would you call it? If I run a lab and due to my ineptness release a virus that kills 1000s. Glad you find all this death and despair funny.
Oh please. I don't find COVID funny, i find you laughably ignorant. COVID didn't escape from a lab.

So if we find out it did since that article is bogus and the WORLD holds them accountable, will you change your mind? You posted the laughing emoji, so you must find it funny.

What if? You're playing what if? What if it turns out that aliens brought COVID from another planet? Get back to me when it's no longer "what the fuck if".
That is not probable. Fact that it’s China’s fault is.

At this moment aliens from another planet is as probable as anything you are proposing. You don't care about facts, you've set your mind "boo hoo, bad, bad China did it". Tell me, what does it change? It doesn't change Trump's piss poor response to it. It does't change his riffing on injecting disinfectants. It doesn't change the HUGE risk Georgia is taking by opening too soon.
It depends on the risk they take by not reopening.

Unless there is widespread testing, people aren't going to be comfortable going out. So business, who can't survive on the small number of people actually going to their establishments are risking exposure to their employees and their few customers. Until we are testing millions of people per day and doing contact tracing, we're just rolling the dice. You wanna risk your life on the roll of a pair of dice?

OK, lets see what "wide spread testing" means. If I get tested this morning, test negative, and catch the virus tonight, what good did the test do?

Are you suggesting that we cannot be safe until we test 330 million people every morning before they are allowed to leave their houses?

People with symptoms are being tested every day in every state. If they are positive, they are quarantined. What TF more do you want done?

God you are such an idiot. Nothing is 100% foolproof. The goal is to limit risk and exposure. According to health experts, people returning to work would need to be tested weekly. This is the new reality for working Americans until there is a vaccine. Since you don't work, it's really not your concern, is it?

Are you aware that there has never been an effective vaccine developed for a corona virus. Hell they're still trying to develop a vaccine for SARS, no luck so far. What makes you think this one is any different?

.

the common cold is a corona virus, no vaccine for that, but for this one there will be???? When pigs fly.

The common cold is a rinovirus.

There will never be a vaccine for the Wuhan coronavirus. BUT an inoculation is imminent.

What's Causing My Cold?

And it's not just one you need to dodge. There are more than 200 that can lay you low.

It's likely that someday you'll have a close encounter with one of these types:

There are also a lot of viruses that doctors haven't identified. About 20%-30% of colds in adults are caused by these "unknown" bugs.

.

Agreeing with Kemp's decision would require Trump to take a stand that will share responsibility for the outcome. Responsibility isn't a chance Trump is willing to take.

more left wing bullshit. He left the reopening decisions to the governors where it should be since each state is different. If he had mandated that all states open at the same time you assholes would have called him a dictator.

you libs are the most disingenuous people on the planet. All you have is lies and hate. you are pathetic.
So you believe that if the virus is raging in Louisiana for instance...that Mississippi is safe?

The virus can't cross state lines or county lines?

Oh....

of course not, but its not "raging" anywhere, the infection rates are down world wide. But if you are scared, you are free to stay in your bunker and eat worms.

What's the Trump line for today? Is Kemp right or wrong, according to Trump?
What about Polis?

What about him?
He did the same thing and the media only asked about Georgia. Media is so biased.

Kemp made the news because Trump criticized the Georgia reopening. Did Trump do the same for Polis?
He was only asked about Georgia, not Colorado. Did you even watch the press conference?

See my edit.
No. What Edit? He "criticized" because he was asked about it. Not the other way around.

The media prevented Trump from addressing Colorado's plans to reopen? Is to laugh, comrade.

He was probably asked about Georgia's high-profile reopening because of his LIBERATE tweets a couple of days prior.

BTW, no I didn't watch the press conference. I get tired of hearing how good the economy used to be.
Reporter specifically asked about Georgia. Deflect all you want, Pedro. If you're tired then don't listen.

And you thought that was evil, and indicative of bias? That's goofy, weakling.
Not evil but indicative of bias for sure. You didn't, Rodrigo? Want to arm wrestle?

No, I didn't. The plans to reopen were different, as Colorado won't allow personal care businesses to reopen until May 1, while Georgia allowed such businesses to reopen on April 24. Were there any other governors he wasn't asked about?

I think you're reaching too hard. "But he didn't ask about Polis!" Dude. Your Polis question is a deflection from Trump giving Kemp whiplash before throwing him under the bus.

May 1...so in a few days? LOL

My point is the media leans very left and you are being disingenuous if you discount that. Sorry, Jose.

Your point is aimed at avoiding the point (of the OP). They asked about the State that was opening first. They didn't, apparently, ask about the States opening 2nd or 3rd. You're naive if you think you're selling that.
A few days matter? OK

So you think they will ask about CO on May 1st?

First matters.

To the subject of the thread, this is a take from the fairly-conservative Atlanta Journal Constitution. (Before they merged, the Journal was right-leaning, the Constitution was left. Now they hew to balance.)

While you're yapping stupidities on the other thread, did it sink in that asking the question of the FIRST state to open is one thing, and asking subsequent states is another thing? It only indicates bias to an idiot.
Triggered. LOL

need a safe space, Enrique?

Still avoiding your ignorance, weak one? And falling back on your 'triggered' nonsense.

Georgia was opening 2 days after that presser, and Colorado was opening 9 days after. Are you so stupid as to think the failure to ask about Polis at the same moment indicated bias? Really?
So 7 days is a big deal now? You pick and choose your talking points.

Do you think it indicates bias? Try to focus.
Yes I do think. So they open in 3 days. Think there will be questions? LOL
"

I'll leave those tea leaves to you. Your point was that Karl didn't ask about Polis, too. Do you believe that lack indicated bias?
That is one example of it. Biden/Kavanaugh is another blatant example, granpa.

To quote some idiot, "You pick and choose your talking points." If you think your Karl/Polis scenario indicates media bias, defend it, don't deflect.
I have. And you will see it play out as CO opens.

You ignore the significance of Georgia reopening first - a week prior to Colorado. If that's it, you defended it unsuccessfully. Sorry you have to pin your hopes on the future.

The way Georgia played out, Trump was unwilling to risk having to share responsibility with Kemp. Ka-thump, ka-thump.

He has said from the beginning that its up to each governor to make those decisions, the federal government will provide whatever resources are needed but the federal government will not dictate to any state, as it should be.

No, not from the beginning. Before admitting that, Trump claimed differently. Once he acknowledged the governors' authority, he had it both ways - tweeting LIBERATE at 3 states continuing stay-at-home orders, and criticizing Kemp for his decision to reopen. As Trumpkins say, 'That's real leadership!'

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump claimed the “total” authority Monday to decide how and when to reopen the economy

“When somebody is president of the United States, the authority is total,” Trump said at the White House. “The governors know that.”

"This is by far the biggest decision of my life because I have to say okay, let's go. This is what we're going to do."

The 'biggest decision of his life' was left to others.
He also had multiple calls with the 50 Governors and they came to that consensus. That is a good thing, Pedro.

It was never his authority.
I am not an attorney and that is murky. Likely would have gone to the SCOTUS. Fortunately, it did not come to pass. I reiterate, it is a good thing the Governors are working together, speaking with one another and coordinating with the White House. Not a bad thing.

“When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total, and that’s the way it’s got to be. ... It’s total. It’s total. And the governors know that.”

You don't have to be an attorney to know that is Constitutionally unsupportable. The same day he said that, Trump was forced to acknowledge reality when groups of governors in the Northeast and the West Coast said they would work together, without him, to decide when to reopen their states.

If you maintain it was within his authority, you have to concede he left "the biggest decision of his life" to others, and then criticized in both directions.

You're right, cooperation is good. A shame there's not more of it.
BTW - I never complained to the MODS. Did you get that straightened out? LOL. Cooperation is good.

I have no evidence you did. In fact, I said I had the exact same evidence you had for one of your spurious claims. The post calling you weak - without profanities - is the only post I've ever had removed. It struck me as odd, considering I had just called jitts a number of profane and insulting names one minute prior, and those posts are still there. At the risk of incurring mod wrath, I suppose I should ascribe it to some particular affection.

Edit - It occurs to me I did have an off-topic post deleted, but never one for personal attacks on a poster, until then.

What makes you think this one is any different?

.

Other coronaviruses - like the common cold - mutate rapidly, so it's impossible to vaccinate against them. Whether or not we can vaccinate against this depends on whether it mutates, and how quickly.

I wouldn't advise holding your breath.

.

I'm not. It will be what it will be, and we will do what humans do best: adapt.

This is just the start!

horseshit. it takes 4-5 days for the symptoms to show up. Stop the lies.

the incubation period is 4-5 days. there is no way new infections showed up the next day as a result of the the opening. Stop repeating lies that have been fed into your tiny brain.

So what you're saying is expect even more new cases? They obviously opened too soon?

Yup. They're trying to backdate new infections to hide the numbers but you can only do that for so long...and then it looks REALLY bad

Way to lie. It's been a week

maybe, maybe not. time will tell. but the bottom line is a couple of things

1. the virus is no where near as deadly as they originally told us. (less than .5% mortality rate, and then mostly people who are already very sick)

2. you do not burn the house down to save it. Our economy must be restarted or the country will collapse.

Ok, so what? did you think number of cases would go to zero? People are still getting the flu and colds and we have no cure for either of them either. More people died in Georgia last week from abortions than from covid.

I have relatives in Georgia, they are getting on with their lives and still being cautious about distancing and sanitizing------------but we should be doing those things all the time anyway, whether the virus was sent from China or not.

LOL, but you are happy when the code every death as being caused by covid, even though the real cause could have been cancer, heart disease, diabetes, or anything else. The stats are not accurate, CDC reduced the covid numbers yesterday to a much lower number.

they have either been wrong or lying, you decide which.

Which of course is not the case

Oh I know..you saw a youtube video where two hack "doctors" made that claim...

They were of course never IN NY
