Why does it matter? Millions of people are idiots living via government assistance. Kids may now remain on their parents insurance until they are 26. Not one student in the Baltimore school system and its 13 high schools was math proficient. If I had one wish, it would be that, going forward, the President (whoever it is) pushes for real consensus on any significant policy changes. Whatever we do with health care, for example, needs broad support - not just a partisan majority. That will require real compromise, compromise that isn't required to pass a law, but IS required for sane government. Thrashing back and forth on strict party lines does us no good.
