Univ. of Kansas prof says kids of NRA members should be SHOT!!!

Yep. Criminals don't care about laws...Its baffling that politicians either don't understand that or really just don't care. They want control over the citizens however possible...

so we just shouldn't have any laws then, right?

We should just restrict the rights of everyone because of the actions of a statistically insignificant few. That's the reasonable solution to the problem.

if you read the tweet he actually doesn't call for anyone to be shot - but if there are more shootings he'd prefer the victims be those close to people opposed to gun restrictions

That was not nice of him to say that.
What we need to do is protect children of gun owners and those that support the NRA and gun clinging in general.
The best way to do so has been a proven method in the past ............. separate the children en-mass from the parents, this will also break their spirits.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-OpC6tnJ9c&feature=player_embedded"]separation for safety[/ame]
With their children gone and their spirits crushed into submission, they can be ordered to give up the guns for the return of their children ( if we can find them again ).
From this point America will become the Utopia it DESERVES to be.

Look at that....someone actually understands context

What does the NRA have to do with it?

-Geaux

By NRA do you mean that organization that emphasizes gun safety and the joys of shooting sports or the organization that has a death grip on Congress to kill any gun legislation?

if the NRA has a deathgrip on congress it's only because they have the voter support to back it up. good to see congress listening to the voters for a change

Nope. If you take minorities out of the equation, the US gun violence statistics fall in line with Europe's even with the sheer number of guns in America. Now do you really want to have the conversation about that little factor?

I think it was bill o'reilly who said - The problem is not with guns, it's with black people.

amazing, but this is your typical left wing fanatic showing his true colors. violent and full of hate. this man is an educator? if the school keeps him on after this outburst there is something wrong with them. we should have background checks for people teaching and influencing our youth . this guy would fail out of the box

Yup- gun-haters are so crazy they want to shoot the CHILDREN of gun owners!!!

Not to defend anything that comes out of Bill O'Reilly, but the fact is Blacks and Hispanics commit violent crime well out of proportion with their representation in the population. When whites alone are examined, the gun violence (and overall violence) rates fall in line with Europe.

So, are guns to blame, is it a racial thing, something sociological, what causes the numbers to be skewed when minorities are added into the mix?

You just gave the definition of "law"

That is either an ignorant statement, or an outright lie! The NRA has been in favor of legislation for many years that would identify mental cases better before letting them buy a gun. Generally, what the NRA teaches saves many, many lives.

Keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally unstable isn't a gun rights issue. It's a civil rights issue which is why it can't be done. The NRA would identify mental cases before they could get their hands on a gun legally. Which puts the NRA smack in the middle of a discrimination claim. Of course, even the worst mental case could get a gun illegally. So legal gun owners better remain at the ready at all times.

I understand all that, but at least the libs should know that the NRA is an advocate of the Psychology professionals being made to divulge potential murderers. They can now divulge ones who have already murdered.

Whether it's possible or not, the libs cannot say the NRA is not concerned about crazies getting guns, because they are.

If a conservative prof called for kids to be shot, it would be headline news and the prof would be instantly fired.

Prof says NRA members? children should be next to die in mass shooting | The Daily Caller

4:17 PM 09/19/2013

In the wake of the Navy Yard shooting, a journalism professor at the University of Kansas is calling for children of NRA members to be the next people killed in a mass shooting.

David Guth, an associate professor at UK’s journalism school, took to Twitter to lay the blame for the Navy Yard shooting on the shoulders of NRA members. If anyone has to die in a mass shooting, it should be their children, he said.

#NavyYardShooting The blood is on the hands of the #NRA. Next time, let it be YOUR sons and daughters. Shame on you. May God damn you.
— David Guth (@DWGuth) September 16, 2013

He later doubled down on his statements in an interview with Campus Reform.

“Hell no, hell no, I do not regret that Tweet,” he said. “I don’t take it back one bit."

Guth presided as an associate dean of UK’s journalism school for five years. Campus Reform reported that the university was standing by his right to make such claims about NRA members and their children.

Yes. What is your point?

We should probably go ahead and restrict that pesky First Amendment then. There's a few nutters in a cult somewhere. It's for the children, right? Speaking of children, someone is making child pornography and distributing it across the internet. Let's cut off access to the internet. And someone is writing a ransom note right now, so let's make sure nobody can have pen and paper without a through background check.

If it saves just one life, it's worth it.

Who would do the shooting? A bunch of bed wetters that are terrified of guns?

Yes, this is how silly this thread is

That's how silly the "proffesor" is. The fact you don't think there's a problem with an educator saying this out loud in a classroom is telling.

Who said I didn't? I just wont wet my diaper about it because he'll be out of there real soon.

So why are you afraid of what you call "bed wetters" and their threats? Either they are pansies that you're afraid of or they're pansies you're not afraid of...that you still find a reason to cry about. Which one is it?
