However child abuse was HUGE. Kids grew up being abused by their parents and then went on to abusing their own kids. Teachers and priests thought nothing of abusing their kids.

Life was fucked up, but it was HIDDEN so all the people could go about their sanctimonious days feeling good about themselves.

The modern world has a lot of problems, and the problems are SOLVABLE, but the politicians don't care to solve the problems.

In the UK during the build up to the London Olympics, juvenile crime dropped because the government (obvious not the conservative govt) had set up programs for kids to do sport, then the Olympics ended and the conservative govt took the funding away because the money looked better in their pockets, and crime has risen massively since then.

But let's pretend if you use violence of kids you're reducing violence.

The problem with the 60s was the people got RICH. The more money people have, the more free time they have, the more crime they can commit, the more there is to steal etc etc.

Maybe you want a society with a 1% which is rich and a 99% which is on the verge of starving all the time, it'd keep crime down.

Nope, I'm saying when people have to work 12-18 hours a day just to feed their families, they have less time. When people get richer, and people grow up with less of a need to work so much for so little money, they have more opportunities to become criminals.

Clearly criminals existed in the past, people who didn't bother to work and felt they could earn enough money without having to work a "proper job".

Also the rich society is, the more people steal. We know that in recessions crime often goes down because less people are going out buying things and have less things to steal.
