An ar15 is not a "assault weapon" …

California recently revised their definition of an assault weapon to include any firearm with a pistol grip -or- folding stock -and- detachable magazine.

The AR's and the AK's are now doomed.

How fast could you reload it? In the hands of a skilled rifleman, even a single shot .22 is a very dangerous weapon. However, in the hands of an incompetent, an AR or AK is a very dangerous weapon. That is the difference.

All of my guns were designed for hunting. However, both high powered rifles are man accurate to 600 yards. Not good for cleaning out grade school classrooms and crowded night clubs, but more than adaquete for self defense.

And yet......rifles with detachable magazines murdered 154 people......in 34 years......

I just push a button -- drop the mag and pop another 10 rounds in. The mags were more compact storable It was a DORKY LOOKING gun is the point. Works the same way as AR but with better safety and only a SLIGHTLY longer shot rate..

Cleaning out a crowded nightclub or classroom (lord forgive me) best done with a wide open choke on a semi-auto shotgun. Could EVEN saw off the barrel if you were a criminal type. (although not all multi round shotguns can be sawed)

Might not have the "kill rate", but the number of wounded would be VERY impressive. NO skill required at all.

ASSAULT is what happens --- not what type of gun was used. And HUNTING is not the only valid use. I have coyotes and rabid skunks that want to eat stuff I don't want them to eat. AND I don't want to face criminals with a single shot hunting rifle.

In a mass shooting, it would have the same kill rate......actual research shows that magazine capacity has no bearing on the number of people killed, so a shotgun or pistol can kill just as many...which is what the anti gunners know...if they get rifles, then after the next mass shooting happens with a shotgun, they will call for those to be banned, then the same with pistols.....

When I shot competitively -- the stock on my $1200 Anschutz had LOTS of holes in it. Bolt action rifle but OBVIOUSLY from the looks of it -- very suspicious to Dianne Feinstein or a gun grabber..

NASTY looking thing -- "design for a single purpose" --- BAN IT !!!!
I think this a biathalon version or something -- but high end target rifles all look "suspicious".
