It is not about keeping firearms from convicted violent felons. Nobody would disagree with that.

It is about making law abiding citizens be required to get permission from the filthy ass government in order to enjoy a right that is guaranteed in the Constitution.

It should be against the law for a convicted violent felon to own a firearm because the felon has a record to prove that he is not be trusted. However, that should not mean that the government should require that most people (who have never misused a firearm) should have to prove innocence before being able to purchase a firearm.

Once we allow the government to give us permission for Constitutional freedom then we are well on the road to tyranny.
