Not only was he fired for investigating Burisma, so was his successor. The fact that the corruption was more widespread than just the Bidens doesn't mean that there was no corruption by the Bidens.

The Federal Reserve tightened to viciously after plying near free money that created the Roaring Twenties. At that time, we did not have a large central government. The people who finally got their Fiat currency promised there would be no recessions and depressions. They used a gold scare in 1907 to finally scare the then congress to pass the Federal Reserve Act over Christmas in 1913.
