What do conservatives support?

Conservatives support Traditions, Values and the Rule of Law. The concepts of Law and Order along with Personal Responsibility are essential to Conservative ideology. A place for everyone, and everyone in their place.

Please define "Traditions" and "Values" in terms of universal "T's" & "V's" by time and place.

Was Article 48 of the Weimer Republic not imposed to provide Law & Order in Germany,

"On January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler was named Chancellor of Germany. Lacking a majority in theReichstag, Hitler formed a coalition with the Nationalists. Not long afterwards, he called elections for March 5. Six days before the election, on February 27, the Reichstag fire damaged the house of Parliament in Berlin. Claiming that the fire was the first step in a Communist revolution, the Nazis used the fire as a pretext to get the President, Hindenburg, to sign the Reichstag Fire Decree, officially theVerordnung des Reichspräsidenten zum Schutz von Volk und Staat (Presidential Decree for the Protection of People and State)."

I've argued many times that conservatives are defined on what they oppose (gay marriage, taxes, change, the ERA, sex ed in school, abortion, free contraceptives, labor unions, the UN, democracy,
Affirmative Action/consent decrees, gun control, FEMA, the PPACA, Climate Change, a Government too large , (how large is too large for a nation of 300 + million?), public school teachers and other government employees - until they need them.

I've also posted the 14 points of Fascism, which, when applied to the statements / rhetoric of Trump are enlightening, and should IMO give pause to those opposed to an authoritarian federal government when considering a vote for the Republikan nominees. We don't need a Big Brother

Fourteen Defining Characteristics Of Fascism

Keep these sage comments i mind when in the voting booth:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Well you need to keep in mind when going to the voting booth, impeaching Trump would be a piece of cake if he goes off the rails, can you say the same for the hildabitch?

Traditions and Values are the same fucking thing.

Meanwhile...WHOSE Traditions or Values?

The concept of "Law and Order"? Most Police are Democrats, nice try.

A place for everyone and everyone in their place:

Is a fucking Feudal concept enshrined in Dune. So Republicans admit they think they are the elite, and everyone else belongs beneath them llike slaves.

Pathetic shits.

Nailed it.

To them control over brown immigrants, brown Americans, brown muslims, poor folks and women is absolutely essential in preserving their tradition of white, male supremacy and the value system that teaches white and might are right.
They are doing a piss poor job at being white supremacists or white nationalists then....

So a rigid and highly stratified class system just like the ones many of our ancestors fled Europe to escape. Brilliant!
Without a Monarchy your comparison falls kind of flat.

Conservatives aren't for anything, they are only against things. They hate everything that's ever been beneficial to society.

The concept of conservatism is to "conserve" the status quo. Progress is made when people embrace change. To be a conservative is to always live in the past. Yes real freedom is messy, and you have to put up with people you disagree with, or who choose lifestyles you may not like, but that's when people are truly free to be themselves.

Americans are all big on the freedom to choose their own health insurance. I prefer the freedom that my single payer system gives. If I get sick I go to the doctor, pay no co-pay, and get treated. I may have to pay a few dollars for my prescription $2.00 plus dispensary fees - usually about $4 total. This gives me enormous freedom - freedom from worrying my health could bankrupt me, freedom to go to the doctor when I get sick rather than having to wait because I have a big co-pay, or I can't afford it. Freedom to move to another province and know I'll have health care there too.
The words "status-quo" and "past" are mutually exclusive....

You're a fool if you think the federal government is not too large and overbearing. or you're blind, Deaf and dumb... :itsok:

Can you tell us a country which has a smaller government in Employees, tax burden and spending by GDP who you think have got it right...

I quote many countries that have lower but I don't think you would hold them up as models

I could teach a child what they need to know one hour a day and make them better prepared for the REAL world than the public school system and that's a fact. Common Core is a fucking joke.

It is funny too, because a lot of the time they try to pass off bullshit.

Back when I was in school, I was suspended several times for contesting teachers, because it undermined their authority. My favorite activity was studying history scholars and classical philosophy, but government education has no room for free thought.

Thank god I dropped out when I did. Best decision I ever made in my life.

I was very combative with my teachers as well when I got into high school because I was reading on a 10th grade level when I was in the 5th grade. My reading comprehension scores were off the charts in grade school because I lived to read. I was on a first name basis with the local librarian at the school and the one by my home and I couldn't believe how it was never bustling with readers...I mean, you could find ANY thing to read for free! I questioned a lot of things that didn't seem right to me. I was on the speech team when I was a freshman in HS and I always picked the most controversial topics to speak on. I wasn't an "anti-authoritarian" but I had problems with laws (that I later learned were simply acts, statutes, codes and ordinances) and what actual functions they had a useful purpose other than control? I loved English Lit and would read waaaay ahead of the reading assignments and ace the tests even though I had read them weeks earlier. Algebra was a different topic and struggled with it. When I went to tech school and had to take Boolean algebra, I did fine but it never really helped me to troubleshoot an electronic circuit that I know of....

Odd that being so smart you never learned to write anything but simple sentences sans paragraphs.

You mean "illegals".....get it right, dumb ass. BTW, you don't have the slightest fucking clue as to what is the biggest driving force behind poverty because you don't have the slightest clue on how the banking and financial industry works because you are just a little "arrested development" commie that feels like you are being "cheated".,......stupid fucks like you make me sick...seriously.

Seriously, you're writing abilities are childish.

In 12 pages no one has been able to rebut the general concept of the OP. In fact every effort by Conservatives result in more evidence in support of the claim that conservatives are defined by what they oppose,

Is it any wonder The Congress under the control of McConnell and Boehner/Ryan have done nothing of substance since gaining control.

Actually to be considered a conservative in the Republican party the platform has been changed.

In fact, a list of what “Republicans” now stand for has nothing at all to do with policy or principle, but rather is filled with beliefs about very specific concepts. For instance, being a member of the current GOP pretty much requires you to pledge allegiance to most, if not all, of the following views:

  • That Hillary and Bill Clinton are at least an accessories to murder if not murderers, the DNC killed a member of its staff for leaking her emails, her use of which was the greatest national security breech in history, and Vince Foster killed himself because of Hillary nagging him (assuming he really wasn’t murdered).
  • Hillary Clinton is hiding a severe illness which makes her incapable of holding office and which will soon cause her death (well, at least we might not have to worry about her serving two full terms!).
  • President Obama is easily the worst president in history, a Muslim terrorist sympathizer, the founder of ISIS, and likely wasn’t really born in the United States.
  • The Republican “establishment” is a bunch of impotent losers because they lost two elections to a media darling and can’t override vetoes without a super majority, but a guy who has never been truly leading a candidate like Hillary in the polls is a sure winner.
  • Conservative writers at the National Review and Weekly Standard along with Charles Krauthammer, George Will and Brit Hume are all out-of-touch wimps who can’t be trusted to tell us the truth, but Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Matt Drudge and Alex Jones would never lie to us for profit (expect for maybe that whole Alex Jones “9/11 Truther” thing, which we’ll sort of pretend didn’t happen).
  • When in doubt, Trump is always right, no matter what he has said in the past, even when it has directly contradicted his previous statement, and even if that happens on the same day, or in the same interview.
  • Deporting illegal immigrants and building a huge wall on our Mexican border is the most important thing we must do, unless Trump changes his mind.
  • There is nothing more significant (especially now that we’ve forgotten about that whole illegal immigration thing) than making sure that the person who picks the next Supreme Court justice is the same guy who was recently favors eminent domain and curtailing the First Amendment, and who picked Arsenio Hall and Piers Morgan as the “Celebrity Apprentice.”
  • The news media has never been more biased than they are against Trump, which is why they gave him two billion dollars in free advertising in the primaries and why he just hired the head of a major conservative “news” outlet to head his campaign while using Sean Hannity and Roger Ailes as advisors.
  • The background of a potential First Lady and her ability to properly represent the country no longer matters (that’s so 2008!).
  • Experience in public office no longer matters (that’s so 2008!).
  • Using a Teleprompter is good, unless it is bad (that’s so 2008!).
  • Flip-flopping means nothing (so 2004!).
  • Releasing your tax returns (even when you entire campaign is based on your wealth) means nothing.
  • Words mean nothing.
  • Having class or decency means nothing.
  • Limited government means nothing.
  • Fiscal responsibility means nothing.
  • Cozying up to Vladimir Putin is numerous bizarre ways means nothing.
  • Campaigning as an amazing manager of people but running a campaign that is in constant chaos and disarray means nothing.
  • Lying is a total disqualifier for Hillary, but when Trump lies it is simply part of the “Art of the Deal.”
  • Polls are either wrong or part of a massive nonsensical conspiracy, unless Trump is winning.
Facts mean nothing (unless they are sanctified by Matt Drudge, in which case they are then gospel).
  • Stories from “mainstream” media sources are inherently wrong, even if all they are doing is reporting Trump’s actual words.
  • Hillary is the worst person who has ever lived and would be such a dangerous president that we must do everything possible to defeat her, except actually bother to consider electability when it comes to picking our nominee.
  • All Along I Thought Trump Wasn’t a Conservative/Republican, But Now I Realize I’m Not
