In 1948 the Arabs lost due to lack of equipment and training. The Zionist Hagana, paramilitary group, was much better equipped and trained. In 1967 the Israelis conducted a surprise attack and won that battle as well. However in 1973, we had a different situation. If it wasn't for the US airlifting thousands of tons of weapons, the Israelis would've lost and we would now have Palestine back on the map.

Hamas isn't hiding behind anyone. Hamas is the resistance movement against Jewish Zionist occupation. They live in Gaza because they're from there hence they live there. There's no way to eliminate Hamas, while the Zionist Jews continue with their illegal occupation. They're just growing Hamas, with every mother and father they kill, every brother and sister, every spouse and child that they murder, they're creating a whole new generation of Hamas fighters. The only way to eliminate Hamas is by ending the cause and purpose of Hamas, namely the illegal Zionist occupation of Palestinian territory.
