Where was the armed security guard at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High?

Fake news is reporting the armed security officer went to the building and didn't go inside while the shooting was going on. Coward. Just pathetic the failures from school police, local police and sheriffs, and FBI.

BIG FAT FAILURE at every stage.

While Fake News demonizes me and my gun for over a week.

Doesn't bode well for the idea of armed teachers when a trained cop doesn't even want to take that on alone.
But we hear constant stories of how teachers died shielding children. You seem to be saying that teachers are going to be cowards if we give them the means of protecting their students with more than just their bodies.

Cowards, and stupid as well.
One of these idiots was saying that an armed teacher posed a threat because any criminal worth his salt would just take the gun away from the teacher and kill the entire class.

These people are nuts. They need to be institutionalized.

People have a romantic version of what a single guard with six shots in his handgun can do. Marshal Dillon always took out the bad guy with one shot. John McLain took out a whole team of terrorists with just his service revolver.

This 54 year old guard is tasked to break up fights in the school, escort unrulies off the premises, keep strangers off campus....fighting terrorists is not something he is trained for

In four minutes he heard carnage inside the building. Endless rapid fire shots, people screaming, total confusion
Is there one shooter inside or a team of shooters? Are the bad guys wearing armor? Where are they in the building? All he has is six shots

Do we really expect him to charge into the building based on no information and somehow come out alive?
Not one of the gun nuts here would have rushed to suicide in that building with a handgun against an AR-15.
Wrong. Concealed carry holders have enaged in gun battles with mass shooters on a number of occasions.
Link to someone armed with a handgun entering a building by themselves to engage a mass-shooter armed with a weapon like the one Cruz used...?
Does the type of weapon matter? You don't know what type of weapon is used until after the fact. But the point is that if unarmed coaches went into the building to protect kids, then the guy paid to do that but didn't should be excoriated and held in contempt.

Find a case that is identical in every detail to the Douglas highschool shooting? Don't be an ass. You know that's never going to happen. However, there are plenty of cases where concealed carry holders dispatched an armed shooter in the middle of his assault.

Here Are 5 Times Concealed Carriers Have Stopped Mass Shootings
1.but for every 1 SD use, there are dozens of murders
2.and there are plenty mass shootings that were not stopped
numbers tell the truth

3. !!!! your number 4 case was not a mass shooting scenario
. He shot Stephen Hollman inside then ran out to Main Street and shot Scott Luzetsky who later died.
mass shooters don't run away when there are targets nearby

number 5 was not a mass shooting:
"I think it was going to be a hostage situation
Churchgoers subdue gunman at Spartanburg church

those are just the ones I researched

and--your one story is about Chicago!!!! this is just about the number 1 argument against gun control=Chicago

Teachers aren't trained soldiers. It's not their responsibility.

How about we solve the actual problem rather than add more guns into the mix.

Great, so in circumstances not like Parkland, shooters were stopped. And not one of your stories indicated a person armed with a handgun went up against a mass shooter armed with a weapon like Cruz used.

So why not hire Veterns hell I'm sure you would get a shitload of them volunteering their time for free and they are trained. I want a solution just none tat takes a big steaming dump allover the Constitution. What's your solution ?

School Resource Officer Scott Peterson was elsewhere on the 45-acre campus during the attack that left 17 dead and 16 wounded, Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie said Friday.

“Staff and everyone responded quickly,” Runcie said, based on a briefing by the Broward Sheriff’s Office. “The SRO was communicated with but was on another part of campus.”

Peterson, a deputy with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Parkland district, has been the SRO at Stoneman Douglas High since 2009.

He could not be reached for comment Friday.

School resource officer was elsewhere on campus during shooting, Runcie says

So, the school did have an armed security guard. He was communicated with but was on another part of campus when shooting started? Forty-five acres ain't that big. Why didn't he ever confront the shooter? This just doesn't smell right.

Yet another law agency that didn't do it's job.

Breaking Update!

Union rep for Peterson said "he did a good job." He called in the attack. He's a security MONITOR.

An armed security guard never got the chance to stop the teen gunman who murdered 17 students and staffers at a Florida high school, authorities said Thursday.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel confirmed that accused mass murderer Nikolas Cruz managed to shoot up the Parkland high school without ever encountering the school resource deputy.

“He was on campus and he was armed,” Israel said. “At this point, the only thing I can tell you definitively is he never encountered Cruz.”

Armed guard at Florida school never encountered rampaging gunman

Who was he? Where was he?

Guess what, petunia, the other cops that showed up wouldn't do their job and go in like they were supposed to. Yup, they waited with their pistols drawn hiding behind their cars. Then the real cops showed up and hauled ass in there but it was too late. Guess what again, the cops that were hiding behind their cars followed the real cops to the door and when the real cops went in the other cowards stayed outside. Total clusterfuck.

A security guard with a handgun doesn't want to confront someone with an AR-15?

The issue continues to remain why we let civilians buy AR-15's.

My guess is he was an fbi plant. He probably was responsible for getting the kid into the building.
More likely he was a NRA plant so Lapierre can sell more guns now that he doesn't have ODS to sell guns any more. Get another school shooting going and then he can scare the gun nuts that the government wants to take away their guns.
LOL, are you really that dumb
Broward schools are paid more money to keep their school crime stats low so they get more money.

might wanna read this stooge.

"A" security guard. LOL

WTF was wrong with that security officer? Not only did he have a gun, but he probably also had a vest.

The teacher that saved those kids didn't.
