Who's to Blame: Big Government or Big Business?

Corporations got it made..they have more loopholes and ways to save a buck than any other entity we know of... and they continue to whine about too many regulations. And they have their sleezy nmeathooks locked into our political system. So they run the show. Scary thought having them involved.

If it's so easy then what stopped you from starting your own corporation and cleaning up?

Corporate greed is alive and stronger than ever. They control this nation and are guilty as charged

The term "corporate greed" is pure leftwing pap. Corporations aren't any greedier than anyone else, including politicians and government bureaucrats. The real definition of "greed" is when the other guy is having a better time than you.

The seven deadly sins, also known as the capital vices or cardinal sins, is a classification of vices(part of Christian ethics) that has been used since early Christian times to educate and instruct Christians concerning fallen humanity's tendency to sin. In the currently recognized version, the sins are usually given as wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. Each is a form of Idolatry-of-Self wherein the subjective reigns over the objective.

You highlighted greed, which at your link is described:

It is typically used to criticize those who seek excessive material wealth, although it may apply to the need to feel more excessively moral, social, or otherwise better than someone else. The purpose for greed, and any actions associated with it, is possibly to deprive others of potential means (perhaps, of basic survival and comfort) or future opportunities...

This certainly describes Progressive Politicians and Big Government in general.

LOL, a great effort to spin an ancient truth into a justification for avarice. Are we to assume collecting taxes is a form of greed, is that your point, and using tax money to provide services to others is a from of greed?

One might then consider the collection of money from members of a parish as a form of greed, for the money used by many houses of worship are used to adorn the house itself or to provide services to the parish members. Of course no law requires and no punishment is extracted on those who do not donate - but the power of the pulpit is no less powerful than the rule of law in the minds of the believers.

Yes, it is. Especially when you consider the leftwing propaganda used to justify raising those taxes. Leftists are always demonizing the rich so they can convince the dumb masses that taxes on the rich should be increased. In reality, taxation is nothing more than organized plunder of the productive for the benefit of leaches. It's "greed" in other words.

One might then consider the collection of money from members of a parish as a form of greed, for the money used by many houses of worship are used to adorn the house itself or to provide services to the parish members.

You could, but church donations are voluntary. Taxes are collected at gunpoint.

Of course no law requires and no punishment is extracted on those who do not donate - but the power of the pulpit is no less powerful than the rule of law in the minds of the believers.

What complete horseshit. You're trying to equate someone using persuasion with someone pointing a gun at you. Only a lib could belive anything so utterly moronic.

I'm not a Christian, so your argument doesn't impress me in the slightest.

The bad guys are the bankers,

if so why does everyone do business with them? Is this something only a conspiracy nutjob communist like you would know about?
Are you confused about the Private Banker cartel?

The only kind of cartels that have ever existed for more than a few weeks were all government enforced.
Every government ever created was designed to serve its richest citizens first and foremost, and cartels are a highly efficient tool for maximizing private wealth. As always, you are ignoring the historical fact of all governments being under control of private bankers.
"In the third section Paine examines the hostilities between England and the American colonies and argues that the best course of action is independence.

"Paine proposes a Continental Charter (or Charter of the United Colonies) that would be an American Magna Carta.

"Paine writes that a Continental Charter 'should come from some intermediate body between the Congress and the people' and outlines a Continental Conference that could draft a Continental Charter."

You failed to prove that cartels can exist without government enforcement.

I'm sure you're not, as I'm sure you're a member of the Crazy New Right and and not sufficiently socialized to adjust to societal norms. One can be an iconoclast without being a feral human being. Seems you see yourself as the former, but in reality - evidenced by your avatar and obnoxious posts - to be the latter.

All cartels are products of corrupt governments.
All corrupt governments are produced by unregulated private wealth.
Thus, all cartels are produced by unregulated private wealth.

It's not an ad hominem, it's an assertion of your character flaws, apparent to all but the most radical members of the far far far right wing in America. You're a dirt bag, you don't offer any argument to prove your Crazy Right Wing ideology is rational and thus their is no substance to refute.

Believe what you want, pragmatists see you an others who hold onto ideologues of dubious outcomes as fools - you have more in common with true believers in Communism, phrenology and the 'spirit world' than you do with normal rational human beings.

That's the best laugh all day.

I guess I could say calling you an asshole numskull who sucks off the tax payers isn't an ad hominem. It's just an accurate assessment of your character flaws and job experience.

All corrupt governments are produced by unregulated private wealth.
.

100% stupid brainwashed Marxism
USSR was corrupt with no private wealth, Afghanistan is totally corrupt with no private wealth. Govt is corrupt when it has the power to be corrupt and that power comes from liberals who idiotically beleive the more power they give govt the more good it will do, not the more corrupt it will be. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolultely!

Thomas Jefferson:
Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence.

You're a dirt bag, you don't offer any argument to prove your Crazy Right Wing ideology is rational and thus their is no substance to refute.

totally stupid ignorant iliterate liberal has no idea that Aristotle, Cicero Chesterton, Strauss, De Tracy, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Adam Smith, John Locke, Milton Friedman, Nosick, Hayek, Von Mises, Sowell, Wm. Buckley, Kirk, Burke, Q. Wilson, Rand, Patrick Henry, C.S Lewis, Voegelin, Belloc have offered the argument on behalf of freedom from liberal govt 1 million times!!

Consumers are faced with a decision, which member of the cartel will best suit their needs?

See: Who makes what? Appliance411 The Purchase Who Makes What

How about your car:

Many manufactures all over the world in life and death competiton in not a cartel super sub moron liberal. Do you think Fiat Chrysler will survive? If you want reliability you should buy Japanese according to Consumer Reports. If you don't think today's super reliable miracle cars are good enough then it should be easy to get together the money and make a superior car. A fool liberal couldn't make a paper bag could he let alone have the IQ to understand capitalism. As we say : pure unadulterated ignorance!

I'm sorry, let me remind you of my feelings about you. 1) Fuck you, you're an arrogant asshole; 2) you're a parrot and have never had an original thought; and 3) you couldn't secure a job at my undergraduate university cleaning toilets.

argumentum ad hominem from typical liberal frustrated by his own pure iliberal gnorance

Corporations got it made.

this is true but only if they can produce the best products in the world at the lowest prices against all competition in the world in order to increase our standard of living.

Does a liberal produce anything of value except pure Nazi like ignorance.

Private wealth that isn't democratically regulated produces corrupt government, giving rise to cartels and wars of aggression which, in turn, generate more private wealth.

Government regulation of private wealth is always highly corrupt. Government is always the source of corruption. Have you ever heard of corruption where government wasn't involved?
