My grandfather bought 150 acres in Clintondale NY in 1899. Cultivated it for 20 years with apple orchards that still stand today. By the 50s he had saved enough $$$ farming to buy 450 acres in Cuba on a lake there. I do agree that hiding behind the current election guidelines with their funny rules on campaign finance allows allows corporations to funny $$ gather and contribute versus giving that $$ to their share holders as dividends. And politicians use the carrot of funny regs and policies that favor those particular industries.
But this is not new news. Been this way forever, especially from the mid 1800s to the Garfield shooting which put Teddy Roosevelt in office.
