CDZ Why are republicans opposed to HR1?

Giving voting rights to illegal immigrants and citizens of other countries is just wrong. Opening the borders to foreigners, giving them free shit, then automatically registering them to vote every time one of them fills out a government forms is rigging elections.
Good thing that's not in the bill, then.
Yes it is, anyone with an id that does any number of things relating to government including things like going to a library are auto registered.
You're gonna hafta prove that fantasy.
It is in the bill you claim you read. Anyone with an id is auto registered and at least 10 states give ids to illegals.

By forcing states to automatically and duplicatively register all people to vote through government outposts such as motor vehicles, state universities, and welfare agencies, H.R. 1 would register millions of illegal migrants to vote in the United States.
That's a RWNJ fantasy, not a fact.
why don't you explain what it solves?
What it solves? It removes obstructions to people wishing to exercise their right to vote.

Nope.

Why are republicans opposed to HR1?

It's seems to me there is nothing but good in this bill. Someone please explain why the republicans hate it.

H.R. 1 FACT SHEET

CLEAN AND FAIR ELECTIONS

Improve Access – H.R. 1 expands access to the ballot box by taking aim at institutional barriers to voting, including cumbersome voter registration systems, disenfranchisement and limited voting hours. H.R. 1 will create automatic voter registration across the country, ensure that individuals who have completed felony sentences have their full voting rights restored, expand early voting and enhance absentee voting, simplify voting by mail, reduce long lines and wait times for voters and modernize America’s voting system.

Promote Integrity – H.R. 1 commits Congress to build the record necessary to restore the Voting Rights Act, as embodied by the House-passed H.R. 4. It also commits Congress to deliver full congressional voting rights and self-government for the residents of the District of Columbia, which only statehood can provide, prohibits voter roll purges like those seen in Ohio, Georgia and elsewhere and ends partisan gerrymandering to prevent politicians from picking their voters.

Ensure Security – H.R. 1 ensures that American elections are decided by American voters, without interference, by enhancing federal support for voting system security, particularly with paper ballots and also by increasing oversight of election system vendors and by requiring the development of a national strategy to protect U.S. democratic institutions.

END THE DOMINANCE OF BIG MONEY IN OUR POLITICS

Guarantee Disclosure – H.R. 1 shines a light on dark money in politics by upgrading online political ad disclosure and requiring all organizations involved in political activity to disclose their large donors. H.R. 1 also breaks the so-called ‘nesting-doll’ sham that allows big-money contributors and special interests to hide the true funding source of their political spending.

Empower Citizens – H.R. 1 strengthens the political power of hardworking Americans by creating a multiple matching system for small donations. This innovative, 21st-century system of citizen-owned elections will break the stranglehold of special interests on Congress and lay the groundwork for an agenda that meets the needs of the American people. The voluntary multiple matching system will be completely paid for by a new surcharge on corporate law breakers and wealthy tax cheats. That way, the individuals and corporations who break the public trust – like Wells Fargo, which created fake bank accounts for unwitting customers, or Volkswagen, which lied about harmful carbon emissions from its vehicles, or Facebook, which violates Americans’ privacy, or Purdue Pharma, which fueled the opioid crisis – bear the cost of building a more just and equitable democracy. H.R. 1 also reaffirms Congress’ authority to regulate money in politics, pushing back on the Supreme Court’s wrong-headed Citizens United decision.

Strengthen Oversight – H.R. 1 ensures that there are cops on the campaign finance beat that will enforce the laws on the books. H.R. 1 tightens rules on super PACs and restructures the Federal Election Commission to break the gridlock and enhance its enforcement mechanisms. It also repeals Mitch McConnell’s riders that prevent government agencies from requiring commonsense disclosure of political spending.

ENSURE PUBLIC SERVANTS WORK FOR THE PUBLIC INTEREST

Fortify Ethics Law – H.R. 1 breaks the influence economy in Washington and increases accountability by expanding conflict of interest law and divestment requirements, slowing the revolving door, preventing Members of Congress from serving on corporate boards and requiring presidents to disclose their tax returns.

Impose Greater Ethics Enforcement – H.R. 1 gives teeth to federal ethics oversight by overhauling the Office of Government Ethics, closing loopholes for lobbyists and foreign agents, ensuring watchdogs have sufficient resources to enforce the law and creating a code of ethics for the Supreme Court.

.
Because it is a big cheat. No ID's? No signatures? Mail out ballots? Not to mention it goes against the Constitution.
Id and signature are taken at registration, and mail in ballots are always signed and checked. It does not go against the constitution.
Have YOU read that Bill? And it does so. The Constitution says the States control the elections. This crappy Bill Federalizes them. there are 50 Repubs in the Senate. If they don't show up ,there is no quorum and the Bill dies. Better than a Filibuster.

I have read the bill, and it does not.

From article One :. "The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations..."

When the idea of dropping the filibuster was raised, I said it was a terrible idea. HR1 is worth busting the filibuster. Only rabid anti-american losers could possibly be against voters rights legislation.
god you are beyond stupid
For quoting the constitution or for supporting the right to vote?

Which one of those things seems stupid to you?
Everyone has the right to vote. At the POLLS. On ELECTION DAY. We can't have an Election 3 Months. And mail-out ballots could go anywhere. And Ballot harvesting loses custody of the "Ballot. And Democrats suck donkey dick.

it basically takes away a lot of individual freedom and increases the power of government...
Name those individual freedoms enumerated by Article, Section and Clause in the Constitution which would be taken away from the People and those governmental powers taken from the People and absorbed by the government!
dude, it's obvious you accept it because it came from demofks, and the only reason. you actually didn't do any research to see where it violates the constitution. Or are you for destruction of our constitution?
It doesn't violate the constitution.

Sorry for your luck.
what does it solve? Again, it presumes something isn't working, what?

what obstructions exactly? I don't understand, do you think there are inferior people out there?

sure it does, it seems you didn't read the HR-1 bill.

are you suggesting individuals don't have a burden to bear to execute their vote? Sure they do, again, are you saying there are inferior people who are not knowledgeable enough to register themselves, track the date on a calendar and go to a voting place?

what does this bill solve?

Yes it does and you know it. So does Pelosi and every other Democrat

ANYBODY who has any dealings with the federal government will be registered to vote.

THAT INCLUDES ILLEGAL ALIENS -- MILLIONS OF THEM
Exactly. When you give automatic registration to illegals who are provided free entry and free stuff, it is a bribe. It is fraud, cheating, scamming, and corruption.

There you go again, pretending you know what the Hell you're talking about and what I've done and know! Stupid rabbit!

If your dumb ass KNOWS where HR 1 is violative of the Constitution, given you "claim" to be so knowledgeable, then YOU make a list of the Article, Section and Clause of the Constitution with each conflicting passage of HR 1. There may be some questionable portions in the Bill, but I haven't come across any YET. And no, I haven't read it all because reading and reading AND understanding are two different things, but your dumbass wouldn't look to all the other statutes that may be impacted by HR 1 and only know what your puppet masters tell you to regurgitate from their script!

So put up or shut the fuck up!

Folks, this thread is in the CDZ - please review the rules before releasing angry tirade and snarky replies.

Can you demonstrate that you can differentiate illegal aliens from legal immigrants?
Then first time you get a DL they requires a birth certificate. University and welfare will ask for proof of immigration status.
