Yes, Jews are a fallen people who have hearts that have been continuously hardened to God, if you read the Old Testament you would know this. Heck, just look at yourself.
Actually, I have.
You know what my takeaway is.
Frankly, there isn't much about the Old Testament God that makes him worthy of anyone's worship.
He drowns babies when people don't turn out the way he wants them to.
He sends bears to maul children.
He kills David's baby to show David that adultery was wrong. (So why not punish David?)
But it gets worse.
He turns Mrs. Lott into Salt for looking back at Sodom, but he was totally good with Lot offering his daughters up for Gang rape before having drunken sex with them himself.
He required Jephthah to butcher and burn his daughter as a sacrifice because he made a foolish oath.
He kills 70,000 Israelites because David did a census God told him to take. Or maybe Satan told him to take it.
the Old Testament God IS understandable as the manifestation of all the forces of merciless nature that Bronze Age people didn't really understand. But he's not worthy of anyone's worship.
