I had the dubious pleasure of being a government bureaucrat for a few years and I can guarantee you working hard is not part of the job, keeping the bosses happy with as little effort as possible is more like it. And if the bureaucrats higher up the ladder want a certain outcome you give it to them without arguing (that's what got me fired)

Were you in law enforcement? When lives are on the line, and you're part of the vital workforce, the one's that have to work holidays and government shutdowns? They have a completely different work ethic.

If you worked in accounting, if you screwed up you issued a refund check, or collection notice. My job was to protect the department from the bad guys higher up looking for justification to cut our budget and I screwed up by making some suggestions to spend $$$ more efficiently (it is a mortal sin to suggest you could the same things with less money)

And works the same way with the Fisa court, you simply can't point out to the higher bureaucratic gods that their request for a warrant doesn't make sense according to the rules. If you do you'll be out of a nice, cozy government job and then you'll actually have to do some real work for a living
