53% Think Neither Political Party Represents the American People

Elections are being decided not so much by how many people you got to vote for you, but how fewer people you disgusted enough to make them stay home on election day.

Reagan got a landslide because he gave people a reason to vote for him. Today, the best the political propaganda machines can do is give us a reason why we should not vote for the other guy.

"Vote for us because THAT guy is Satan! And he golfs a lot."

That's not a reason to vote. Tell my why I should vote for your guy, not why I should vote against the other guy.

"Because freedom" doesn't fly. You have to do better than that.

Tell me EXACTLY what your guy will do. "He will obey the Constitution" is meaningless drivel.

"Create opportunity and jobs." Sounds nice. How?

"Repeal ObamaCare." AND THEN WHAT?!?

When they occupied both houses of Congress and the White House, the GOP spent like drunken sailors in a whorehouse, started a few wars, increased the size of the federal government, expanded the breadth and scope of government power astronomically, created an entirely unfunded new medical entitlement social welfare program, locked up American citizens without habaes corpus, spied on tens of millions of Americans without warrants, harrassed reporters and spied on them, lost guns in Mexico, suffered several attacks on diplomatic missions overseas, created a whole new Cabinet-level department with massive police powers, and laid the groundwork for the greatest financial crash since the Great Depression.

God help you if you weren't wearing a flag pin, though! Sieg Heil!

This was all okay with the the rabid faux right until January 20, 2009. Then it all became not okay once the other guys took the torch that was passed to them.

I am amazed the number of people who think neither party represents the American People isn't MUCH, MUCH higher. It should be damn near 100%. The remaining 47% are in a fucking coma.

So true...Both parties are owned by the extremes. We moderates hate the social bull shit and seeing one group turned against another.

WE want science, infrastructure, education and r@d investment. Both parties are insane!

and yet you "moderates" will keep on voting for the fuckers too....because as we all have been told by enough of you right here in this forum.....if you vote 3rd party you are "wasting" your vote....so its better to vote for the "lessor of 2 evils".....what a crock of shit.....

As soon as you come up with a better idea, you can post your SHIT and not be ridiculed by me.

Fucking lunatic moron loser.

What's your brilliant idea?
whats yours?....vote for the same old shit over and over again?.....and then be here bitching about the same shit you were bitching about last year?...

idiot

That's a great government and economic plan.... "Vote for somebody else"

Karl Marx spent his entire life trying to devise a working alternative to 'Capitalism' (more accurately, 'Corporatism' was what he was against at the time)

How'd that work out? 100,000,000 murdered in the last Century alone? A series of books, papers and jibber-jabber that drone on about the evils of Capitalism (like he had a clue what Capitalism really was) and never a plan on how to form a socialist government (communism is supposed to be what's left after government 'withers away') and a socialist economic system.

Some people think Marx was brilliant. I think he was an imbecile. Out of all those thousands of hours of work and Marx couldn't come up with a workable solution, you offer us this brilliant nugget...
Vote for somebody else

Here's a thought, do the Country a favor and stay home on election day. You're too stupid to vote

here is a thought....CUT THE FUCKING CORD.....maybe when your head is out of the Republicans ass you might see things clearer...

In my opinion? The Party system MUST be abolished. OUTLAWED.

You may as well say human nature should be outlawed.
NO you vote for the INDIVIDUAL and their record...NOT because they have some stupid party affiliation...

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural to party dissention, which in different ages & countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders & miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security & repose in the absolute power of an Individual: and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty." — George Washington, September 19, 1796

I'm wondering why that number isn't higher?

excellent question. my opinion:

because both parties get most of their funding from their far right or left bases. a person in the middle would never get the funding, thus, americans are fooled into believing we only have two choices. ross perot, i believe, came the closest to upsetting that because he had his own money. there are centrists out there that do a good job representing the middle, but they just don't have the funding. i don't know why to be honest. because if i was a billionaire that didn't care about social issues, eg, i want to ban gay marriage, i would put my money on a centrist. and i know that there are billionaires out there who are centrists.

americans have become lulled by the two party system. it is broken. perhaps a new centrist candidate can do what obama did in 2008 and utilize grassroot movements more. i am socially liberal, while fiscally conservative. and i've never seen a single candidate that can match that. the governator came close, but he can never be prez and he ended up being ineffective.

Count me in!

But, what other choices do we have?

Here in Nevada, here's what we have:

American Independent Party @ Independent American Party

I wasn't allow to enter the Libertarian Party @ http://www.lpnevada.org

And these have nothing on any ballots"
Constitution Party
Green Party
Whig Party

Again, what're my choices?

voting for the same 2 parties just guarantees that nothing will change.....until they change their candidates sure as hell aint going too....and i dont see them changing....the 3rd party people may not be any better, but there is the possibility that the more votes they get, it may wake up the bigger parties and show them that they are not as unbeatable as they feel they are....and who knows, maybe they will start running quality people again....

BOTH the Democrats and the Republicans make it difficult for unaffiliated folks to get any traction, and it's on purpose. Their GRIP over the system has to be loosened, and why I am in favor of abolishing the labels and the PARTY systems. VOTE for the individual...screw the parties.

Arnie was the greatest Governor this State ever had while he was Campaigning...

your asking the Party people to cut the cord?....good luck with that....

I get letters from both entities frequently. I tell them to get bent and start defending the people they're bilking for their machinery...their power...they still haven't gotten the message. YOU may be right. It MIGHT have to come down to FORCE for them to get the message.

Short of killing every polotician and starting over, there is no way to fix the current system.

just look at the last Pres nom debates; The most successful gov got asked no questions until he forced himself into the conversation.

The media controls what people can learn. If you don't know who Gary Johnson is, watching the debates won't cause you to research him, thus we end up with people that will talk crazy for air time.
