74 school shootings in 77 weeks...Worth it's own thread.

the answer is simple

murder with a gun-----------death sentence, executed 30 days after conviction.

robbery with a gun-------------1st offence 10 years, 2nd offence death.

Dude, the only thing that is "simple' is you.

We can't execute people now without fucking it up. We have more people being released from death row beacuse they didn't do it than we are actually managing to execute.

You think the system is going to get better if we do more of it with less review?

For those who aren't consumed by blood lust and own guns to compensate for tiny penises, the reality is, the Death Penalty has no deterrent value. Crazy people aren't deterred because they are crazy. Those acting in the heat of the moment aren't deterred because they are in the heat of the moment. And those who are premeditating murder don't think they'll get caught.

I don't care what you think of me the "I'm proud of you " rings more as a hollow insult than anything else so just cut that shit out OK?

I've given my opinion.

You can try to prevent criminals from getting guns and most likely you will fail.

We can't stop the illegal sale of drugs why on earth would you think you can stop the illegal sale of firearms or anything else for that matter?

IMO Our best option is to make all crimes committed while in the possession of a firearm, whether or not that firearm was actually used or even brandished, federal offenses punishable by a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.

People who commit crimes while in possession of a firearm are dangers to society and should be removed from society for good.

I think everyone agrees that gangbangers are a major contributor to our murder rate. They make you, as a good guy, look bad for owning a gun. We need to do everything we can to dry up the supply of guns.
Will we stop every gun from getting in the hands of criminals? Of course not. But if we can cut 20%, that is 20% less guns on the street
Prison is not our answer to guns or drugs. We have a larger percentage of our citizens in prison than anywhere on earth. It is obviously not working

the answer is simple

murder with a gun-----------death sentence, executed 30 days after conviction.

robbery with a gun-------------1st offence 10 years, 2nd offence death.

Our prisons are full of gang bangers and drug dealers. Problem is there are always more willing to take their place. We need to revise our obsolete drug laws. Illegal drugs mean only one supply and that is the gang bangers.
We also need to stem the tide of illegal guns to gangs

I remember when we were playing the "I'm tougher than you in fighting drugs" game in the 80s with each politician standing up and pushing tougher penalties for drug offenses
Charles Rangel stood up and said " You think drug dealers are afraid of tougher sentences? The drug dealer down the street will shoot you in a minute"

How much violence will be averted if we simply legalize drugs?

How much would we save by scrapping the failure that is the war on drugs?

We could divert a fraction of the money wasted trying to prevent drug crimes to rehab services.

That alone would free up prison space for truly violent offenders to be locked away for good.

Other countries have drugs and they don't have prisons overflowing with drug offenders and drug wars in their streets
It will be interesting to see what the laws in Colorado do to the illegal marijuana trade.

the black market for marijuana is alive and well in Colorado

If you Ammo-sexuals want to keep, sleep with and insert your guns into your privates because I really think it's that sick, then figure out a way to stop this epidemic.

This data tells me that the parents of these kids are pretty much out of touch with their kids, so start with them.

I know. And the group that did this used regular crimes happening NEAR schools as part of the data. I want the OP to admit it. Thanks.

Problem is that the legal drug market is too regulated. The prices are due to that too high. That's why there is still a big black market in states like Colorado. If the regulations would just be repealed and there would be more competition, the black market is going to die.

the black market will never die

if you can get the same product for 1/2 price

I don't think it would help.

It's a culture thing. I think believe this idea that if we just legalize X, then breaking law Y, will disappear.

Singapore has a war on drugs, and they are easily winning it, not by legalizing, but by simply enforcing the law. We don't enforce our laws. That's all there is too it in my book.

Problem is that the legal drug market is too regulated. The prices are due to that too high. That's why there is still a big black market in states like Colorado. If the regulations would just be repealed and there would be more competition, the black market is going to die.

All of sudden right winger is against too much government regulation in the drug INDUSTRY.

How cute.

Very hypocritical, but cute. What do liberals stand for? Anyone?

Actually, I'm against using my tax dollars to build prisons to hold non violent offenders while we don't have money for schools, healthcare or veterans

Where does this bull crap come from? We spend more money on schools than any other country on Earth. They still suck.

We have the best health care in the world.

Veterans are victims of government run health care, and that will always be the case no matter how much you spend, just like we spend the most on education, and our education system sucks.

The problem isn't a lack of money. The problem is government sucks.

The purpose of government is to enforce the law, and protect the citizens.

You idiots on the left want to take money away from what it's supposed to do, and give it to what it's terrible at doing, and then complain it not enough.

Prisons are what government is supposed to do?

How bout spending the money to send kids to college instead of sending nonviolent offenders to prison?

Great post Androw, might I add just one "smidgen" of truth?
The VA is running a surplus, so I have no clue why leftwinger would want to throw more money at it.....other than it's just in the liberals DNA to keep throwing tax dollars at any problem without knowing the root of the problem.

Yes, protecting its citizens from predators.....it doesn't have to be a violent crime to have victims. :eusa_whistle:
