All homeless people deserve to be housed

Not so. We all can pull up one instance of something.
What exactly is "not so".

Point 1: There already is help for the homeless.
point 2: Many homeless go without the help because the will not accept the strings that are attached to the help.
Question: At what point should public assistance be limited/end?

Point 2 is true. Otherwise all the homeless shelters would be full. However, some homeless cannot go without alcohol and drugs in order to stay at the shelters.

Many homeless people have family that they could live with for awhile; however, they would have to live by the rules of the family member's house.

And there are some people that simply choose to live a minimalist lifestyle because sleeping under bridges and savaging for food means that they are responsible to no one.....stereotypical hobos.

This is untrue. I worked in this field for over 30 years. .There just aren't a that many who live in this situation who do not want to follow the rules. Plus there are not all that many beds to meet the homeless numbers Of you are homeless in some small towns you don't have a homeless shelter.

Then create one or open your home to help those in need.

Why demand the taxpayer to do what you refuse to do?

I'm a taxpayer asshole. So I demand that my money go to help Americans who need help..

Asshole?

Well fucktard the government is elected by the people and your candidate lost, so the majority candidate get to dictate how the fucking money is spent.

Oh before you claim Clinton won the majority vote she lost the Electoral College!

So look asshole you don't dictate shit and if you refuse to give more then sit down and shut the fuck up!

Open your home to those in need and if not then fuck off!

THe majority of homeless people are bat shit crazy and should be locked up so they are not a danger to themselves or others.

True, some estimates are that 20-25% of our prison population are people with mental illness. Since JFK in the early '60's started the movement to deinstitutionalize them, there is nowhere else for them to go.

All homeless people deserve at a minimum to be housed in single wides and given a college education...One can not pull themselves up from off the street corner and it is the morally right thing to do as a country.

No one should be homeless.

Proud to be liberal as I don't think anyone should rot on the sidewalk.
Well, why aren't you taking the homeless into your house? Who's going to pay for all of this that you insist has to happen?
In civilized democracies, housing is considered a human right. The governments, through taxation, should provide housing. The hard right see things differently.

No in civilized society's they build up the military, the police force ..they do it so the people have freedom with in their borders..

Yet you foreigners continue to mooch off US tax payers for your defense.

Here's a thought. If you feel the government is mishandling your taxes, stop paying taxes and send it directly to those needing help...asshole.

There are already many programs and shelters to help the homeless. However, with the help comes rules......rules that many homeless refuse to abide by.

On another note, where does public assistance end?

True, in civilized democracies housing is considered a right. You have every right to go out and buy any house you want.

i never had more trouble when renting properties than the clemson bunch......i had slope side condos and they were hell on wheels...i got where i just didnt rent to them....

Any college kid or most single men ( unless gay or a momma boy ) are nightmares as renters...

I agree. I live in a college town. Most of the young women are great, sometimes sloppy but responsible. UNTIL the boyfriend moves in with them.

I'm sure you understood that I mean even those too poor to buy a house, have a right to decent housing.

i live in western nc..three ski slopes within a half hour.....beech, app and sugar...they love to come here and dirty ski getting ready for their trips to out west...if it rains or they get too drunk they are just outta hand....mostly doing shit that gets other renters to call ...like at what point did tossing beer cans off the balcony onto the balconies below seem a good idea? about a 12 pack i would guess....

In those cases you have every right to buy one for them. BTW, I could use a new car.

There are truly homeless people and then, unfortunately, there are bums. Bigoted lefties prefer to lump winos and drug abusers and the clinically insane along with the good folks who had some tough breaks together in one convenient package for political purposes.

In this thread, this is exactly what conservatives are doing.

I'll guarantee that in one year or less, the area will resemble the inner city of Detroit.
