"Frankly, if we were willing to give away $3 billion for this deal, we could invest those $3 billion in our district, ourselves, if we wanted to. We could hire out more teachers. We can fix our subways. We can put a lot of people to work for that amount of money if we wanted to."

This idea that US cities should compete for jobs and large profitable corporations is just lunacy on the hoof. Tax breaks for profitable corporations paid for by low income people, is nuts.

Those are tendered contracts and the work is completed by construction companies, and normally paid for by the developer - in this case Amazon. AOC graduated cum laude from Boston University's College of Arts and Sciences in 2011, majoring in international relations and economics. She won second prize in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair with a microbiology research project on the effect of antioxidants on the lifespan of the nematode C. elegans.

Which puts her miles ahead of Donald Trump who never studied economics at all, and graduated from Wharton with no academic distinctions whatsoever. AOC won academic awards throughout her student career.
