There is problems with a TOTAL universal check. Biggest is NICS can't handle what they do not, they are always down.

Would it help if I was to do a background check to sell my nephew a rifle when we got chiraq and other bad cities steal and sell? They aren't gonna do nics. Come on, how does one stop that crap?

Registration huh. I had a choice. Any private firearms on a separate list, tagged with a different tag than inventory. I did that till I gave up and put them all in the bound book.

Still caught the agent taking pictures when I left the room 2 min. That was 15 years ago. And if I called him on it like most say I should have? Where do you think my 3 year renewal would have wound up, That's right. Shit can. Deal with rats expect to get bit.

They don't have to......The Supreme Court ruling in Haynes v United States prevents criminals from having to register their illegal guns. The reason? I would violate their 5th Amendment protection against self incrimination. Not kidding.......it's a real ruling, which means only law abiding gun owners would be subject of any registration scheme....
