Breaking News: Trump fires Tomahawk Cruise Missles into Syria

Yes, until it was shown that they WERE engaged in nuclear weapon research. Then they lost that privilege.

The IAEA considers it a 'right' not a privilege, hence it can't be lost. Iraq retained and to this day retains the right to yellowcake.

Wow. You really have no clue do you? Care to explain the surveillance equipment the IAEA uses to ensure compliance? What happens when you no longer comply? They just ignore it while you make a weapon?

Like I said, you are clueless.

BOMBSHELL: New York Times Reports WMDs WERE Found in Iraq!

"The New York Times shockingly admitted in an explosive front page report that thousands of WMDs were found in Iraq since the start of the war:

From 2004 to 2011, American and American-trained Iraqi troops repeatedly encountered, and on at least six occasions were wounded by, chemical weapons remaining from years earlier in Saddam Hussein’s rule.

In all, American troops secretly reported finding roughly 5,000 chemical warheads, shells or aviation bombs, according to interviews with dozens of participants, Iraqi and American officials, and heavily redacted intelligence documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.

You know that Saddam Hussein reported the 500 tons of yellow cake in his UN declaration. He was allowed to have it. So finding it didn't put Iraq in violation of anything.

Please show us where it was reported and that he was allowed to have it. Remember, it was Saddam himself who claimed to have WMD's

Then kindly show us your source and link. Thank you.

I remember her well. And? Oh, you mean the fact it was Richard Armitage that leaked Plames name, rather than Libby, who got charged with it.
And motherjones? Really? Might as well be thinkprogress.

You are soooo full of it, or the people you listen to. Which is it?

And yet, they still DID have them. Face it dude, your claim that they didn't have them has been proven false so many times that your continued attempts to deflect, and lie,, are now just stupid.

To repeat, the CIA report, that cost $1 billion, said Iraq had no chemical weapons, or chemical weapons programs. The dozen or so munitions found, were old, abandoned, or lost.

CIA’s final report: No WMD found in Iraq

WASHINGTON — In his final word, the CIA’s top weapons inspector in Iraq said Monday that the hunt for weapons of mass destruction has “gone as far as feasible” and has found nothing, closing an investigation into the purported programs of Saddam Hussein that were used to justify the 2003 invasion.

“After more than 18 months, the WMD investigation and debriefing of the WMD-related detainees has been exhausted,” wrote Charles Duelfer, head of the Iraq Survey Group, in an addendum to the final report he issued last fall.

What the fuck is wrong with you? You just can't stop with the bullshit, can ya? Libby did not charged with outing Plame. No one did. Libby got charged, and convicted, of perjury and obstruction of justice.

Oh, please. You know what Fitzgerald was doing.

The CIA leak grand jury investigation (related to the "CIA leak scandal", also known as the "Plame affair") was a federal inquiry "into the alleged unauthorized disclosure of a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee's identity", a possible violation of criminal statutes, including the Intelligence Identities Protection Act of 1982, and Title 18, United States Code, Section 793.

Though some might not believe it...the U.S. has been destroying their own stuff too. There is an Army Depot in Richmond, Ky up the road from where I live that built brand new buildings with the sole purpose of burning up mustard gas.
Look up CMDS(Chemical Munitions Disposal Site) Tooele Army Depot South area (Tooele UT) It operated from 1983 to 2009 and destroyed over 77% of US chemical weapons stockpiles.

There is one now operating outside of Denver as well.. Were at the 96% completion level of removing them from our weapons stockpiles.

Here is an article about the Bluegrass Army Depot up the road from me in Richmond, Ky.

"The types of chemical weapons stored and scheduled for destruction in Madison County are suspected of being used against people in Syria and to kill the half-brother of North Korea’s leader."

"Sarin, VX and the blister agent known as mustard, another chemical weapon known to have been in the Syrian stockpile, are the same internationally banned toxins present in rockets and projectiles at the army depot. (As the name suggests, blister agents cause large and often life-threatening skin blisters that resemble severe burns.)"

TRUMP'S RIGHT MOVE AGAINST ASSAD
The days of a weak-kneed Obama are over.

...

U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, presided over the Security Council meeting as its president this month. Waiting until the other members of the Council had spoken, she then addressed the Council in her national capacity and delivered a short but pointed rebuke to Russia’s apologies for the Syrian regime. She said that the time had come for action, noting that Russia was prepared to use its veto power again, as it had done 7 times previously, to protect the Assad regime and thwart any action by the Security Council. “Further delay would only have strengthened Assad. We were not going to allow that,” Ambassador Haley said. “The US took a very measured step last night. We are prepared to do more. But we hope that will not be necessary."

...

President Trump’s decision to launch the limited military strike against one Syrian airbase was a proportionate response to the Syrian regime’s flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and its own treaty obligations against the use of chemical weapons. If Assad resorts again to chemical weapons or commits other deadly mass killings of civilians, he should expect a more severe reprisal.

A Russian warship is reportedly headed towards the US destroyers from which the missiles were launched against Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin would do well to act cautiously. He is no longer dealing with weak-kneed Barack Obama, who drew red lines but did not follow through. President Trump has demonstrated to the world, and especially to Russia, Iran and North Korea – and to ISIS and all other Jihadist groups as well -- that he means what he says.

SMART POWER VS. REAL POWER: TRUMP AND OBAMA ON RUSSIA
April 7, 2017

Daniel Greenfield

The media is very confused. 5 minutes ago, President Trump was a Russian puppet. Now all their correspondents are flocking to Moscow to get juicy anti-Trump quotes from the Russians. It turns out that patriotism wasn't the last refuge of the progressive scoundrel. Pacifism is.

But we already knew that from the last century.

But let's try a little flashback to the great days of Smart Power (TM) under Obama. And how Putin and Lavrov humiliated Kerry. There were so many times, so let's just pick one.

...

The Russians clearly knew this was coming. Their WikiLeaks front began tweeting accusations that Trump would start bombing to improve his poll numbers. But they didn't hear it from our top officials. Tillerson made it clear we didn't get their permission or care what they think.

This is how America used to do things. This is what being respected means.

Smart Power vs. Real Power: Trump and Obama on Russia

While we're at it, let's see some bold, decisive, Tomahawk-missile-bombardment type action on the deportation and travel ban fronts too.

russian propaganda is showing the airfield with no damage and planes sitting on the ground....i would hate to think all those missiles didnt hit the target

Maybe you missed the part that THEY HAD THEM.

Had, as is past tense of to have. I had a dog too, but you don't see me buying kibble any more. HAD, means you no longer HAVE.

Nuance.
How is it nuanced to you? They were under supposed to prove they got rid of them but they played games with the inspectors for 10 years. Syria was supposed to get rid of theirs, Obama did nothing even after giving them a warning so the Russians took over the responsibility. Obviously that didn't happen.

US surveillance shows 27 aircraft destroyed, 22 hardened shelters and 37 out buildings containing chemical distribution systems for aircraft. They hit what they were aiming for.

Only the left wing, Russia and Putin loving morons believe the propaganda from Assad and Putin...

Are Americans not fed-up with all the badmouthing of his predecessor by Donald Trump. I have never heard an American president do that before no matter what political party any of them belonged to.

Hopefully, you're being facetious because, if you are not, you have had your head up...in the sand the past eight years.
I never heard President Obama badmouth George W Bush even once. In contrast, Donald trump continues to criticize his predecessor daily. Trump's supporters take his lead.

Then you must be deaf.
Spoken with a crude insult worthy of a Trump supporter.

I think Trump views Assad like he views a building he buys. If he can renovate it, he does. If not, he tears it down and builds new.

Susan Rice a few short months ago: "We were able to get the Syrian government to voluntarily and verifiably give up its chemical weapons stockpile."

Obama Adviser Susan Rice Cites Syrian War As Biggest Disappointment

Now that's not to say that she couldn't have been mistaken, but it is another argument in favor of restraint. We don't have any conclusive evidence suggesting that Assad's government used or even has chemical weapons at this point. We waited what, two days to bomb them after the news broke of the alleged chemical weapons? Call me crazy but that doesn't seem like a whole lot of time to conduct a serious investigation. Nor is there any logical reason for Assad to use chemical weapons at this point knowing what the consequences would be. Why would he use them when he can do more damage with conventional weapons, when the Russians are aiding him in keeping power, and the Americans are doing much of his work for him as well? What did he have to gain by using chemical weapons? Absolutely nothing. It doesn't make sense, and it seems very convenient for the Trump administration. Almost like they were waiting for any pretext at all to do what they did.
