Brought to you by trickle down fairytails

Let's say that a flat tax is put in place.

If a poor person makes $13,400/yr and pays a flat tax of 15%, that would equal $2,010.
If a rich person makes $13,400,000/yr and pays a flat tax of 15%, that would equal $2,100,000.

Idiotic strawman of your own invention.

No serious voice in Government proposes a tax such as what you prop up here.

Bill Ayers and Barack Obama are a two man team. Ayers is in charge of breeding new subversives through education and making America's children ripe for Obama's subversive action plans. And Obama is responsible for implementing their common strategy of revolutionizing America using the tactics he picked up during his formative years spent abroard and from his father's example.

An unholy pair bent on destroying American values and our traditions and bringing down capitalism.
I must ask this in the most calm and rational way that I can....

ARE YOU FUCKING RETARDED?

"Obama's gon' bring down Cap'lism, by God! Git yer guns 'n Bibles!"

How high is the DOW? How much money have job creators made? 95% of the financial gains since Obama took office. How is Obama destroying Capitalism if your precious wealthy job creator heroes have made more money than ever before? Money, you say, will create more jobs for millions of unemployed Americans but only if Obama abolishes the Environmental Protection Agency.

Good little corporate muppets. Call for your own demise and defend those who will poison your drinking water for the right amount of money. Corporations will regulate themselves, right? These fucking Republicans will be buying bottled air at Wal-Mart pretty soon and still saying, "Everything's fine. The environment isn't in ruins. Free-rein corporate capitalism and trickle down bullshit really works. Heil Reagan!"

I dont know why it seems so offensive to some of you to acknowledge that when one of us benefits all of us benefit.

If a man comes up with a good product and services and makes millions, he employees people who didn't previously have jobs. He gives us good and services that we voluntarily pay for. It's win win all around.

To the FOX-watching Conservative Republican Teabagger, the rich person pays more in taxes because $2m is more than $2k. The poor, oppressed rich person is left with barely enough to get by. Only a paltry $11m/yr. It's an injustice, right?

But the poor person already scraping by on a little more than a thousand dollars per month has another $2k taken out to pay for billionaire bailouts, oil executive subsidies and for-profit prisons for people who grow pot. So in this situation, $2k is a lot more money to a poor person than $2m is to a rich person.
AFL-CIO: CEO Pay Up 14 Percent to $13 Million - ABC News

The tax code has been designed for the rich by the rich, and any changes made to the tax code will be done for the benefit of the rich. Stop calling yourselves Christians if you keep defending greed.

If person A pays $2.1 million in taxes and person B pays $2.1K in taxes then person A is paying more. Are you seriously saying people who understand math are stupid because they disagree with your politics? And to what person is $11 million a year a paltry sum? You are seriously not in a position to ever call someone stupid when your grasp on mathematics is so limited. Mathematics and finances don't work on a theory of special relativity.

And if you are so concerned about the taxes being so high, lower them. There is no reason anyone should be paying the government more than 10% of their labor no matter how much income they make. Heck, we shouldnt even be paying the government 5%.

Yeah, that's exactly how it works in theory but not in real life.

In real life, Carlos Helu has nearly $70b while Mexico is in shambles. The richest 100 people on Earth have as much wealth as the poorest half of the world population. The three richest Americans have almost $130b between them while American cities file for bankruptcy over a few million. Corporations boast record profits while the US government estimates that 49 million Americans have a hard time buying food each week.

Eventually these rich pricks are going to have to understand that this current system which they have designed to reinforce their desire for greater net worth is not sustainable and is going to lead the world to an environmental catastrophe that will make their fortunes meaningless.

Thank you. But you proved you were an idiot long before i posted.

I said that $2k is more money to a person making only $13k/yr than $2m is to a rich person making $13m/yr.

The rich person can afford to pay more. The poor person is already poor. Flat tax only benefits the rich.

And as a real portion of their income in real realistic dollars which buy things like food, medicine and clothing, $2k is a lot more to someone who only makes $13k to begin with than $2m is to someone who makes $13m and has the option of stashing most of it overseas.

It's still 15% for both of them. You can try to pretend otherwise all you want, you're just going to make yourself look like a bigger moron than you already have.

So you're saying that a poor person who scrapes by on a little more than a thousand dollars each month will not be put in any more of a desperate financial situation if they pay they same tax rate as someone who owns four mansions and a private jet?

You're saying that someone who owns four mansions and a private jet should pay the same tax rate as someone barely scraping by on a little more than a thousand dollars each month?

As a percentage of their income, 15% is a lot more to a poor person than it is to a rich person.

Equality in treatment.. blind to situation and other subjective bullshit

Because your subjective bullshit is what got us to this problem in the first place

if he thinks 15% of the poor person's income is too much....all that has to be done is lower the flat rate.....say to 5%......

so then the question really becomes.....how much government is really needed....? this is a question that big government lefties do not want to answer.........

Actually no. By definition 15% of a poor person's income is the same rate as 15% of a rich person's income.

You seem to think the laws of mathetmatics, finance, and reality are somehow different because you make different amounts of money. 15% of someones income is going to be 15% of their income no matter what they make.

Here is trickle down economics in a nutshell:

1) Set up the system to make rich people and corporations....a whole lot richer.
2) Just TRUST your company or boss to then raise your pay.

Just trust 'em guys, it'll work!
So, you don't understand it. Too bad I don't have time to educate you on it.
