Both are intended as security barriers to keep Mexicans out. In 2006 Democrats wanted a security barrier to keep Mexicans out of the country but now they oppose it because they believe they need the Hispanic vote to win national elections. The really big difference is Democrats see everything as fuzzy political gestures to help them win elections and President Trump sees the wall as a concrete step to secure our southern border.
