Study: Bush, aides made 935 false statements in run-up to war
This is why no one believes that those conservatives who have seized on the Benghazi story are motivated by justice. Even Fox News couldn't spin that count.
So those of you who are crying government corruption, or claiming that those of us who see Benghazi as a non-story "don't care" about the deaths of four Americans: just stop.
Dear Paperman: Even if nobody believes the motivations of petitioners,
where they do have a valid argument, that objection should be redressed.
Even if rape happens to a prostitute, a convict in jail, or someone else with zero reputation or no good motive at all by our assessment, it is still a crime and not excusable to be dismissed just because we don't relate to the victim.
We need to quit this habit of overlooking wrongs for politics, because when it is our turn to object to wrongdoing, we don't want that ignored just because someone doesn't agree with our politics. That is why corporate crooks get away with rooking taxpayers left and right; perhaps if we stood together and went after all corruption equally we might stop these abuses.
I agree with the heart of everything you've said. But my post was directed at Benghazi Truthers, who climb on their high horse when argued with and claim they are motivated by a search for "the truth" and suggest others don't care about dead Americans. Since this story is being transparently pushed for political points with a fervor not seen for any other, non-Obama-related scandal, I find that incredibly disingenuous.
Moreover, I consider it dishonest to go after people here who genuinely want to know why our government acted the way it did in Benghazi, without going after the people who tried to say that Bush was involved in the 9/11/01 attacks. We all have our kooks, your heart is in the right place, but you must know that Benghazi is a conspiracy, and the evidence is pointing in that direction. This isn't some wild goose chase. Maybe our politicians don't care, but we do.
