Let's not talk about 10 million per year in tax payer dollars spent on the Obama White House concert tour, or the average 7 million per year the Obama's spend in tax payer money on family vacations. Were you aware that tax dollars pay for Obama's campaign flights to the tune of 2.2 million round trip each leg. Did you know that the annual budget just to run the white house is 1.5 billion dollars. This includes 439 civilian employees with an average annual salary of just under $98,000 per person per year, of whom 46 are personal staff to the presidential family.
In 2011 it cost $30,275,229 per day just to run the Congress, that means for the 175 days session of 2011 it cost taxpayers $5.25 billion dollars. The good news is that the Senate only costs taxpayers about 1.5 billion dollars per year.. guess that's because there's only 100 of them instead of 535 Representatives.
The Secretary of State's (Hillary's) budget for 2010 was $16.389 billion. (But I think she got to personally keep her frequent flyer miles).
The Department of Education spent $100.994 Million in 2011
The Department of Agriculture spent 152.090 Million in 2011
The Department of Labor spent $130.009 Million in 2011
Just to mention a couple of additional departments.
In 2010 there were a recorded 2.65 million Federal Civilian Employees. In 2011 the government paid $105 billion in salaries and an additional $439 million in bonuses.
