Trump and pals are throwing a couple of trillion dollars at the problem. Trumpkins are all statists, now. Because China basically enforced martial law in the cities where there were cases. People were not even allowed outside of their houses.

They built entire hospitals just to deal with this one virus keeping it away from other patients.

Did you miss the fact some states have already called in the National Guard??? We're NOT at Martial Law yet...….but seems like some of ya are getting ready for that possibility just because of the panic.

Yes, some states are starting to do those things in isolated areas, but nothing like China did.

And there is a reason for that, freedom has it price and that price may be slower containment of a virus.

Let's do some very, very basic math.

Covid-19 ends in death in between 1 in 100 to 1 in 1000 cases.

With 100 identified Covid-19 deaths right now, the number of those infected should be 100 to 1000 times that.

That means, there should be somewhere between 10,000 and 100,000 infected right now.

Let's also consider we're at the early stage, with explosively rising numbers of confirmed infections, and death being a lagging indicator, the number of infected should be considerably higher, still. That is to say, even if infections stopped right now, deaths would still be rising for a considerable time, pointing to even higher numbers of infected.

That's frightening enough. Also consider, deaths in elderly and immuno-compromised may be mis-attributed - so the death toll, absent pervasive testing, may be considerably higher. Even more frightening is the comparison with the number of identified cases, which is around 5,000. That means, there are at least 5,000, and up to 95,000 infected out there, not tested and not diagnosed, and busy infecting others. And that's the lower end of the estimate.

That's about in line with most well-developed countries' - with functioning healthcare systems - counts, which report death-to-infected rates of 1:250 to 1:500. That would point to well above 20,000 to 45,000 UNIDENTIFIED infected right now.

Whoever thinks this shouldn't be taken seriously is a bone-headed trumpleton.
