Texas Health Care Worker Tests Positive for Ebola: Hospital

A health care worker at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, where an Ebola patient died last week, has tested positive for the virus after a preliminary test, the hospital said early Sunday in a statement.

I agree. Hope they haven't spread it further, and for the survival of the next Ebola patient. In Africa the Medical Workers have paid a heavy toll for treating the disease. Last I heard over 400 got the disease with over 200 dying from it.

When they treat an Ebola patient they are risking their lives.

I would guess that if they had the correct suits, it would be in the decon stage that is spreading it. It's not so easy getting out of a suit without accidentally touching the outer surface of the suit. You must do it in a precise manner to avoid touching the outer surfaces....and/or the decon or spraying them down process isn't killing the disease as stated.

I've had to get out suits without touching, and it isn't so easy. It's a standard training situation when working at a Nuclear Power plant to avoid contact with alpha particles.

The health worker who has contracted Ebola was not among the people whom public health workers had identified as being at high risk of exposure to Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person to die of Ebola in the United States.

The health care worker had been monitoring for signs of the disease and had not come to work for the last two days. The person's precautions included checking for fever twice daily.
