ERIC HOLDER goes to war to save vote for Texas Minorites

The Supreme Court is supposed to be the final say on legal issues everyone should be angry about Holder trying to do a end run around it. But instead people are doing their partisan cheer leading and missing the fact that this is setting a precedent for future administrations to do the same administrations you may not agree with it's very disturbing how shortsighted people have become.

There's nothing Holder can do here.
A court cannot order a state to follow a federal law that no lomger exists.

True every voter should have an ID.

In Texas it costs only $250, and is easily gotten at the nearest DMV - which is only 100 miles away, between 11:00AM and 1:30PM any Wednesday.

And you can use this valuable ID on voting day only, between 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

A gift from Rick Perry.

:)

$250 bucks WTF???? hou have a link?

You're a fucking liar..... from the Texas website:

Visit any driver license office and complete an application. Be sure to bring the following:

Proof of identity. Provide two proofs of Texas residency. One of the documents must prove that you've lived in Texas for a minimum of 30 days. Cash or check to pay a $16 fee ($5 if you're older than 60).

Driveby can you back up why a ID is bad for voting? Can you link your $250 comment????

Or is this just you saying that blacks are incapable of doing what everyone else can?

That's wrong....

It should be under $20 dollars at tops and easy to get. I think they should be given to everyone ;)

The $250 doesn't include bus fare and a hotel room if the DMV closes while you're waiting in line.

:)

The fee for a ID card in Texas is 16 dollars. Anyone in line at closing time will be taken care of at the DMV. No one will be allow in line after that. However I believe that if they are going to require a photo ID they should have made the voter registration cards with a photo on it.

Good for the AG. Keep it up until Congress can correct the ruling by the SC.

It's an end run. Holder should take the concern to Congress for them create valid, constitutional law.......not to the courts. That being said, voter registration and qualifications are a state issue, not federal. And to top it off, there is no constituional "right" to vote. All the constitution speaks to is what can not be used as reasons to deny the privilege of voting.

Why is Holder trying to do an end run around the SCotUS?

Because they are children who pout when they can't get their way.

i wouldn't call them pouting children.....these guys are fully grown fascist goons who have absolutely no respect for our laws in their headlong pursuit of power....

as Ted Cruz points out...
Holder continues to attack voter ID laws, even though the Supreme Court has concluded that voter ID laws are supported by multiple interests that are ‘unquestionably relevant to the State’s interest in protecting the integrity and reliability of the electoral process.’

Texas Governor Rich Perry said...
Once again, the Obama Administration is demonstrating utter contempt for our country’s system of checks and balances, not to mention the U.S. Constitution. This end-run around the Supreme Court undermines the will of the people of Texas, and casts unfair aspersions on our state’s common-sense efforts to preserve the integrity of our elections process.
