I don't know if that's true but I have read F.D.Roosevelt was warned three days before the Japanese attack. He actively implemented a plan to position Japan into attacking, knew it was coming, and purposely refused to warn anyone.Government is a most heinous force. Happy Pearl Harbor day.
Some says he didn't do anything because he wanted to start a war against Germany and Italy and he needed some "excuse".
This "excuse" was needed because the vast majority of the Americans didn't want the war![]()
Yanno, ascribing this or that intent to the actions of FDR decades after his death is kinda like shooting fish in a barrel and the Internet makes spreading that sort of tripe practically effortless.
Here's a clue: FDR formally declared war on Japan one day after Pearl Harbor. If war with Germany was his intent, why didn't he announce it then? Why did he wait for Germany to declare war on the US before responding?
Thing is, only the "special" people can see inside a dead man's mind, and because they are "special" they are now certain to insist FDR would have eventually declared war on Germany even without Hitler's declaration but all we really know for sure is that Germany instigated war with the US, just as Japan did by bombing Pearl Harbor.
All the fluff posted by the "special" people here (like Gipper) is just that ... meaningless, baseless, fluff intended to make gullible people believe he's smart and well-informed. He fools only the gullible.
BTW, some of these "special" people - like LARam - still ride on the "special" bus:

If FDR wanted to provoke a war with Germany, he could have done so. Just increasingly supply England with more and more military equipment until Germany has to sink your ships........It got us into WWI
Starting a second front in the Pacific when you really wanted to attack Germany does not make sense
Especially when we were unprepared to fight a war on either front
