When concealed carry was first implemented in Florida there was considerable push-back from many businesses and private property owners who wanted to exclude guns from their property.

The push-back was so significant that the statutes had to be amended to prohibit business owners from asking individual patrons if they were carrying concealed, and where although private property owners could prohibit guns from inside their places of business, they couldn't prohibit gun owners from keeping firearms in their cars on the owner's private property.*

I carry a concealed firearm in all manner of places that if the property owner knew I had a gun they'd likely ask me to leave – that's not a problem, of course, because I carry concealed; no one knows I have a gun, the very reason for concealed carry.

Given this recent history with regard to concealed carry laws, there's no reason to not expect the same controversy, conflict, and push-back with regard to Floridians open carrying firearms on private property and in places of business.

I simply ignore any request by a business owner to not to carry in their establishment. If they discover I carry and chose to kick me out then that is their right.

There are also a few places that I chose not to do business with because they have made a big deal about their place being "gun free".

By the way, most of these gun free establishments are that way because some corporate lawyer felt he could protect the business against liability lawsuits by having the sign in the front window.
