I have read that Artic ice increased by some 50% and now Antartica seems to be presenting a real challenge. Two different ice breakers (one French and one Chinese) were unable to reach the stranded Russian research expedition. One last attempt is being made by an Australian vessle and if this fails the 74 Russian researchers and others will have to be airlifted off the ship.

"According to Turney, the ship was surrounded by ice up to nearly 10 feet (3 meters) thick. It was about 100 nautical miles east of the French base Dumont D'Urville, about 1,500 nautical miles south of Hobart, Tasmania."

Arctic ice increased by 50% because the previous level was so low. The actual amount of ice growth this season was not significantly larger than winter regrowth in many seasons prior. The use of percentage is deceptive and the reason it works is that the total ice volume is approaching zero. Watch the graphic in the previous post. It isn't long.

What's disturbing about this, is that normally the Antarctic is pretty much ice free in the summer.

This is ABSOLUTE PROOF that the ice in the Arctic isn't disappearing. The people who claim to have satellites taking pictures: they lie. Ever seen their satellites? Didn't think so. They just sit behind their computers making up new bogus images each day to scare us because liberals LIKE to scare people because they have such small testicles. The snow level almost never gets below 9,000 feet in Hawaii during the winter, but since these mountains are taller than 13,600 feet, 13,700 feet and 10,000 feet, respectively, they get dusted with snow a few times a year. however, It rarely stays on the ground for more than a few days though.
