Government Shutdown October 1st! Yay Republicans!

Is it true some workers will have to work without getting a paycheck? Is that slavery?
They all get back pay...

Federal employees, whether they remain on the job or are furloughed, won't get paid while the government is shut down. However, they will receive back pay once funding is restored to their agency. In prior shutdowns, Congress had to approve back pay for employees, but a 2019 law made it mandatory.

No, they absolutely do not have to.

They are welcome to resign, and seek work in the private sector if their lucrative sinecures do not suit them.

With so many of them "working at home," they will not need to be replaced.

How man Democrats on here will be accepting welfare dolees into their homes and feeding them until the SNAP and the checks start up again?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Then shut up and do what you're told.
Lol.
The party that used to represent sticking it to the man, becomes the party of big government and corporations telling what the little guy to do...

Yep. And I was totally gung ho serious shit when I made my 100% true post. But I'm not seeing the 'shut up and do what you're told' approach being as embraced as I would like. Weird. We need to do something to fix it, no?

The best thing that could happen for the dying democrat party is to play the victim when Biden shuts down the government. Anything republicans do will be perceived by the fawning drooling mainstream media as their fault. It's no secret, that's the way the criminal regime and their minions in the media have it rigged.
A ridiculous, ignorant lie – it’s Congress’ responsibility to pass spending measures, not the executive.

If the government does shutdown, Republicans will be solely responsible and solely to blame.

Then you agree democrats shut down the government in 2018

Two weeks until the Republicans shut down the government for...wait why?

Veteran Republican strategist Karl Rove warned House Republicans that they will only hurt themselves if they allow the government to shut down this fall amid budget battles within their conference and with the Senate and White House.

“Republicans are going to shoot themselves in the foot in the run-up to the 2024 election if they continue to think that shutdowns are a great way to put themselves in front of the American people,” Rove said in a Fox News interview Sunday.

/---/ Yet you whine about Trump signing bloated budgets that increase the debt. The only tool available to get the democRATs to negotiate a balanced budget, or at least one that reduces the debt each year, is a shut-down. So put down the crack pipe and tell us what other option is available.
And don't say RAISE taxes, because it reduces funds into the Treasury, and even if it didn't, it gives more money to the government to squander.

Democrat shutdown the government in 2018 longest in American history

Except in that case the President had stated he would sign the bill that passed the Senate 100-0 and then welched on his word after some TV talking heads said mean things about him

Hard to blame that one on anyone except the one that went back on their word

Democrats shutdown the government in 2018 but that's just different

/---/ True. When democRATs shut down the Gubmit, they do it with compassion, love, rainbows, and puppies. When Republicans do it, its because they are a bunch of stingy meanies.

BTW, democRATs shut down the government often when Reagan was president. And not a peep of protest from the liberal media except to bash Reagan for hurting people.

There's really no reason ever, to willfully shut down the govt. This is Not the time to consider the debt. People aren't concerned about the debt. And they know we have an excess labor force.

/----/ How else can a president veto a bloated budget? You realize we are 33 trillion in debt? That can't go on forever. Why won't democRATs agree to cut spending?

As long as social security and Medicare aren't touched one ounce, not even brought up, I can agree. Add to that small business loans.

The Repubs controlled the House, the Senate and the White House in 2018.
The most recent federal government shutdown lasted for 35 days from December 2018 to January 2019, the longest shutdown period in U.S. history. The shutdown happened due to former president’s demands for funding a border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, which Democrat lawmakers strongly opposed.

Thanks for proving what I said was correct!
