Hannity, Limbaugh and O'Reilly are Union members

"Hannity, Limbaugh and O'Reilly are Union members"

now, WTF does Scot Walker have to do with that?

jokey=idiot

When they're paid with taxpayers money, then it's our business. They aren't. It isn't. I have no real issue with private sector unions. It's the bastards sucking the taxpayer dry that's the problem. Public sector employees are paid for by us, we pay for their greed.

*I'm not saying that all public sector people are greedy - but their unions are destroying the country.*
This issue as well as the disparity of income between the ultra-rich and the rest of us are the straw man arguments used by the libs as an offset to their weak argument vis a vis public employee unions.
In other words, they are full of shit.
Due to rules it is a requirement for radio and tv personalities who work in closed shop states or where their broadcast signal is engineered from, to be members of AFTRA.
For example, because the Rush Limbaugh show is actually braodcast out of New York City, technically all on air talent has be AFTRA members. The reason being if they did not join the union, the unionized support workers would be prohibited by their respective unions from working on that personality's show. Additionally. For those who listen to Limbaugh, notice how his call screener Bo Snerdly(sp) whom Limbaugh speaks with on air, is never heard on air himself, the reason is because if Snerdley does go on air, he then MUST be paid an additional amount as prescribed in the AFTRA union contract.
In any event, this is much ado about nothing. These people are AFTRA members because they have to be. Not because they want to be.
Nice try though, OP.....

Public sector union negotiations certainly are the business of tax payers. Elected politicans have a responsibility to take a hard line in Union negotiations. However, denying the right to collective bargaining to public sector employees while allowing it for the private sector, defies the principal of equality under the law.

As of now, the WI public sector unions have conceded to monetary aspects requested by the Governor: this is not about tax payer dollars, it's about the right to collective bargaining.

There can never be equality if the people who pay the bills ( taxpayers) for the public sector unions have no say in the "negotiations".
Public sector workers are no the same as private sector workers. If the two parties are not the same then your equality argument holds no water.
Besides, there are several sates which bar public sector workers from collective bargaining. To date there have been ZERO court challenges to these laws.
Look, it's over. The public sector unions and quite frankly the employees themselves brought the wrath of the taxpayers upon themselves. The union bosses got greedy while complicit politicians who were/are essentially on the union payrolls( due to lobbying, campaign contributions and political patronage jobs) allowed wages and benefits to increase. The increases fed by ever increasing property taxes.
The taxpayers simply cannot afford to continue to fill the government worker trough.
The reason is because THERE IS NO MORE MONEY.
Public employees should not have the right to collective bargaining. Not until there is a way to place the taxpayer at the bargaining table. Since that is virtually impossible, sorry charlie. No more. Public workers must accept responsibility for their insurance and benefits just like the rest of us. No more free ride.

Sooo, republicans like some or certain unions? They only dislike public sector unions like Seiu?

Not all, or even a majority of GOP, is backing Walker, other than in WI.

Recognize collective bargaining.

Cut the corporate tax breaks.

Cut pensions and salary for the public sector unions.

The bankers and businessmen still come out ahead.

What do they want: all of it?

Really? And what is wrong with Venezuala at the moment. You do realise that ultimate capitalism is what you get in these right-wing tinpot dictatorships, right? The ruling 1 percent elite own 99 precent of the wealth, while the rest live in abject poverty. Why do you think so many South and Central Americans head for the US? With no unions etc in South America, there is no protection for the workers. So your heroes, the uber Capitalists get their way every time. You think that a good society to live in? Realise this is what you covet....
