How you can tell "Global Warming" (aka: Climate Change, Climate Disruption) is a scam

You're certainly free to believe any silly thing you want, but like I said before. This issue has reached the same point other wrong headed right wing goals did. The country, as a whole has come to the decision that the scientists are right, and you lost. You don't know that yet, and will continue to whine for a while longer, but you lost again.

It's the other way round bucko. I dare you to look in the comments section of any global warming story on the net. Prior to CLIMATEGATE the sceptic vs true believer ratio was about 60/40 against global warming alarmism. Now it is over 90 percent against you. The politicians who want to use it to concentrate their power or those who wish to benefit from the regulations to come from the legislation.

Your entire line of argument is one giant appeal to authority and that is the ultimate logic fail there is.

Sure. The right sees what they want to see. Man made global climate change is fake, another 50 votes will end healthcare, and gay marriage can be stopped. You're batting 1000.

It has nothing to do with the "right" you silly person. The PEOPLE know that the warmists are full of shit. Your claim is wrong. The science of climatology is rapidly descending into the realm of pseudo science and you ignorant twits have no clue because you really have no clue how science works.

Like I said junior. One giant APPEAL TO AUTHORITY.

Fallacy: Appeal to Authority

Fallacy: Appeal to Authority

Thanks for calling me Junior. It doesn't reduce the years, but It does help my ego.

So long as your limit of discussion is an appeal to authority you're nothing more than a child mentally, so junior is apropos...

As expected, the deniers here are all competing to see who can push their scientific Stalinism the most enthusiastically.

None of 'em can explain why looking at the data and methods is insufficient. All of that has been released, despite deniers all lying big and claiming otherwise. And we all know why they won't look at the science. It's because all the science contradicts them. Instead, they're reduced to attempting endless fishing expeditions so they can find more email snippets to lie about. It's the only tactic they have left.

The House science committee is worse than the Benghazi committee
---
The science committee's modus operandi is similar to the Benghazi committee's — sweeping, catchall investigations, with no specific allegations of wrongdoing or clear rationale, searching through private documents for out-of-context bits and pieces to leak to the press, hoping to gain short-term political advantage — but it stands to do more lasting long-term damage.

In both cases, the investigations have continued long after all questions have been answered. (There were half a dozen probes into Benghazi before this one.) In both cases, the chair has drifted from inquiry to inquisition. But with Benghazi, the only threat is to the reputation of Hillary Clinton, who has the resources to defend herself. With the science committee, it is working scientists being intimidated, who often do not have the resources to defend themselves, and the threat is to the integrity of the scientific process in the US. It won't take much for scientists to get the message that research into politically contested topics is more hassle than it's worth.
---

Denialism is a modern incarnation of Stalinism, thus every loyal American is morally bound to oppose it.
^ that OP CrusaderFrank . All the science is there. Whats the matter? Nothing there to bear bait the denier base with? Too bad, so sad.

Reminds me of Virginia's former Atty Gen'l trying to do the same thing. Predictably, the Courts did not decide in his favor

Majority of climate scientists DON'T agree that "the science is settled" and objectively trying to work. NOAA and NASA has PACKED their top exec positions with activist loudmouths like James Hansen. The guy who talked about boiling oceans and the "coal trains of death". His replacement is a similar activist who believes in "post-modern" science. That is essentially using science as a socio-political weapon..

When you do that as a political stunt --- expect to be monitored...

Still not curious why all of a sudden --- the ground data and NASA's OWN satellites don't agree??

Yes,The majority DO agree the science is settled. Just because a few can be paid to say differently doesn't out weigh the amount that agree. That is the same tactic that tobacco companies used when their product was proven to be dangerous. Hire scientists to introduce doubt.

Scientists do not operate by consensus. Therefore, whatever you THINK the issue is that has been settled - there are 100s of them and they are NOT settled. Go look up Bray and von Storch.. ACTUAL POLLS of climate scientists BY climate scientists..On dozens of important debatable issues. Not some phoney partisan mind-reading project dealing with asinine questions that don't come anywhere NEAR the issues under debate. Most EVERYONE agrees that the climate changes and that we have been in a warming period. That's NOT what this investigation is about. And that's NOT what climate skeptics --- "deny"...

Your simplistic view of this continuing debate is just a vehicle for laziness it appears. And your lack of curiosity as to why the satellite/ground temperature records are suddenly diverging is something that you are truly NOT interested in.. You're just here to make this about oil companies and politics..

EVEN THO --- the main focus of controlling GHGases has been on FIXED sources of generating electricity. And like the typical leftist who only wants to fight about partisan stuff and doesn't know how things work ---- OIL has NEAR NOTHING to do with generating electricity..

The only reason you can call it a continuing debate is the same reason you can call Benghazi a continuing debate. All the facts have been repeatedly confirmed, but you want to keep stirring it for political purposes. If the right had any credibility left, perhaps more would care about your whining-du-jour , but you have turned into the little boy who cried wolf, and nobody with any sense will listen to you.

Really??? All Solved?? Then of course you can give me a working number for the expected temperature in 2050. Right? And you can certainly explain why the satellite data shows no appreciable warming for the past 16 years or so.. RIGHT?? And of course you can explain why the USGS is "denying" that the California drought has no reasonable connection to GW. Right? Or the recent satellite surveys of the seasonal variations of CO2 concentrations are not quite what the early models expected. Right? Or how the "oceans ate all the warming for the past 16 years" when they have been "eating" heat at the same rate since the 60s. RIGHT?

You ain't even BEGUN to understand the debate or the issues on this topic. All you have is propaganda that's been spoon-fed to you. Bet you think we can say FOR CERTAIN that our little 0.5degC spike in temperature during your lifetime -- NEVER HAPPENED in the past 10,000 year history of the Earth.. RIGHT?

But you've already said that you don't care why the satellites no longer agree with the cooked results of 10,000 earth based thermometers prepared by politicized government agencies.

So I really don't expect a discussion here..

You're right. No need for discussion, This has reached the same point that Healthcare, Gay marriage, and the Benghazi investigations reached.........It's over......... It's already decided.......You lost...........You just haven't figured that out just yet so you will whine a little more, but it won't do you any good..
And nothing has changed has it, can't quite get the tax money right? Congress will get the info it's our money

The moment you start spouting off about right wing conspiracy and believing in the fairy dust of "consensus" --- there's NO science involved. So I'm not interested. Go find someone who doesn't think and doesn't care on the playground.

Sad part is -- you've already slept thru some of fastest scientific revisions in history and missed so much UNsettled science.. But ya can't put that on a protest sign or a bumper sticker.. So you're doomed to ignorance.

The only peole who push this crap are those who either make money directly off of it.

I have seen this silly list before, I noticed you didn't give the main link why they made this list. You know how stupid you appear for posting this list?

Have you ever bother to read it or click on any of the links?

Take #27 for example

American academy of pediatrics

How are they qualified to say man man climate change is real....when they deal with children's health?

You guys are ridiculous now at pulling straws

What? Couldn't find time to answer ONE of those "settled issues"??

What a hooting waste of neurons..

Not my job to answer your questions about climate science. I'm not qualified because I'm not a climate scientist. Here's another surprise for you. You aren't either. It comes down to who you believe, and most of the world has decided that the legitimate scientists are right.

I may not be a climatologist but an expert on temperature reading equipment and only idiots like you would believe the hype.... We didn't even put temperature reading bouys in the oceans till 2004 you think 11 Years is enough data ?

Do you think reading hurricane winds from the past 65 years when we first measured them is enough data?

Do you think the warmest day on record, when we only started keeping records a 100 or so years a go is enough data?

God damn fool the earth is 4.5 billion years old.

That's not even a blip....

Just because you know how to calibrate a thermometer doesn't make you a climate scientist. I'll still go by the experts opinion.
Do you even know what climate science is? Congress would like to know if those they paid do.

The only peole who push this crap are those who either make money directly off of it.

Or # 28 where in the American Anthropology link does it say man causes climate change?

Anthropology is the study of humans, past and present. To understand the full sweep and complexity of cultures across all of human history, anthropology draws and builds upon knowledge from the social and biological sciences as well as the humanities and physical sciences.

Is that what you believe has convinced the majority of the world's scientists (you know, PhDs, professional researchers, people that know what the fuck they're talking about) that the CO2 humans have added to the atmosphere is warming the planet and that that this represents a real and significant threat? Blind faith? A lack of common sense?

Too funny:

You guys keep falling back on that lie despite it being shown false and a blatant lie.. Its truly laughable how you guys stick you head in the sand and ignore actual science..

Right. Not believing another right wing conspiracy theory is the same as sticking your head in the sand.......got it.

Wow.. Quite a list there.. Did any of those POLL their memberships about the question? Or did they just issue a front office memo.. Because I know for a FACT -- that when these groups have put the question to their working members ---- you get NOWHERE NEAR a fucking consensus.

Now since you think only CLIMATE SCIENTISTS should be involved --- Please go prune the list of Medical societies and Zoological societies and Botanists and Foresters and ANY country with a GDP of less than what I make in a year. THEN show us what's left.

Got a better idea. Give me a valid reason to believe your conspiracy theory.

What IS my "conspiracy theory" ?? I'm in science/engineering. We don't HAVE conspiracy theories..

The only peole who push this crap are those who either make money directly off of it.

Straw dog.. Tell me how hot it's GONNA be in 2050 -- and I'll play your game.

Why do you think I should know that? I already told you I'm not a climate scientist, and I doubt they would be able to be that specific..

You said the science was settled and there was a consensus.. Well -- what IS the "consensus" on the temperature anomaly in 2050.. And what WAS IT -- when this circus hit the road in 1980?

Simple questions.. Probably a 5th grader could find those answers..

^ that OP CrusaderFrank . All the science is there. Whats the matter? Nothing there to bear bait the denier base with? Too bad, so sad.

Reminds me of Virginia's former Atty Gen'l trying to do the same thing. Predictably, the Courts did not decide in his favor

That inquiry was a follow-up to ClimateGate emails which were extremely enlightening as to the behind the scenes horseshit of blocking certain authors from publication, justifying misleading data preparation techniques and the like. And Mann was at the center of all that. This IS the same kind of inquiry. The STATES do not have the level of FOIA and document archiving that the Fed agencies do. And CONGRESS is entitled to make that inquiry..

91 year old Freemen Dyson a theoretical physicist and contemporary of Einstein said it best:

“That is to me the central mystery of climate science. It is not a scientific mystery but a human mystery. How does it happen that a whole generation of scientific experts is blind to obvious facts?"

It's the other way round bucko. I dare you to look in the comments section of any global warming story on the net. Prior to CLIMATEGATE the sceptic vs true believer ratio was about 60/40 against global warming alarmism. Now it is over 90 percent against you. The only peole who push this crap are those who either make money directly off of it.

Who has an interest in pushing a false theory? Of course it's easy to see why oil companies would be interested in burying such a theory.

Every Climate scientist who gets money from the government, every bureaucrat and government employee and anyone sucking on the government tit has a financial interest in promoting the AGW scam.

Thanks for proving my proving my point. You people going after people in lieu of disproving the data.

What point? Not seeing anything proving your failed point..

The (political) science of global warming (aka Climate Change) is a power play to usurp control over people's lives.
